What is the main list for kindergarten? General rules for admitting a child to kindergarten
A woman who decides to become a mother thinks in advance about how to enroll her child in kindergarten. Many young mothers get on the waiting list literally from the birth of their baby.
Are such measures justified? Is it really that difficult to get on the waiting list for kindergarten in Moscow? Let's find out.
At the moment, there are 2 ways to enroll a child in kindergarten: online registration and live queue through OSIP (District Information Support Service).
How to register a child for kindergarten via the Internet?
Online registration is available on the government services portal https://mos.ru/. To register online, just register on the portal and log into your personal account.
By clicking on the “Get service” button, you will see a form with fields for basic data: the child’s date of birth, the desired year of admission, the registration address of some others. Enter all the data, check that it is correct and click on the “Continue” button. If the application is successfully registered, you will receive a notification with an individual code by email or SMS.
After submitting your application, you can check its priority and even make changes if necessary.
You can also submit an application online on the websites of the Moscow Department of Education http://www.educom.ru/
You will receive confirmation of acceptance or refusal of your application within 10 days. Typically, refusal occurs only if incorrect data is entered or if the child will be 7 years old at the time of admission.
In case of refusal due to incorrectly entered data, you can visit OSIP within 20 days after receiving the refusal and provide the originals of supporting documents. You can also submit a new application online.
How to enroll a child in kindergarten through OSIP?
You can find a list of OSIP by district on the website http://amoskva.com/organ/osip
To get on the waiting list, you must submit an application to OSIP, as well as the following documents:
- document confirming the identity (passport) of one of the parents or legal guardian;
- a document confirming the legality of the guardian (if there is a guardian);

- a correctly executed power of attorney (in the event that his authorized representative applies instead of the applicant);
- certificate of registration at the place of residence (form No. 8) or place of stay (form No. 3) in Moscow;
- child's birth certificate or its equivalent.
When is the best time to enroll a child in kindergarten?
Regardless of whether you join a live queue or fill out an online registration, it is better to enroll your child in a kindergarten in Moscow from the moment of his birth - as soon as you receive all the necessary documents.
What should you pay attention to?
In every kindergarten in Moscow there is a main and an additional list of pupils. The main list includes children living at the addresses attached to this kindergarten. Children from the main list have priority in the queue.
The additional list includes children living at addresses that are not related to this kindergarten. Pupils from the additional list receive a place in kindergarten in the order of priority after children from the main list.
If, when checking your place in the queue, you discovered that your queue has moved - for example, from 10th to 15th place - this means that two preschool institutions have been merged into one. Naturally, the lists also merged. In fact, everyone remained in their places, there were simply more places.
As you can see, getting on the waiting list for kindergarten in Moscow is not as difficult as it seems. It is enough to provide all the necessary documents on time and patiently wait for the appointed date.
In kindergarten, a child learns to communicate with peers, acquires the necessary skills and abilities, and develops intellectually. In large cities, queues for kindergarten are often a problem for young parents. Sending a child to a place where he is also close to home is a rather labor-intensive process and, unfortunately, not always successful. To solve the problem and alleviate it, there is an electronic queue service, with which you can submit an application and easily check the queue for a kindergarten in Moscow.

Main and additional lists
Main and additional lists
In each preschool institution, two queues are created for the enrollment of pupils. If a child lives at an address that is attached to a given preschool institution, he is included in the main list. The additional list includes children who are not geographically related to this preschool institution, that is, they live in other areas of the city. Many parents are in the dark and choose a kindergarten at will, without taking into account the subtleties. To get on the main list, you need to write an application to the institution where the family is registered.
In addition, Moscow residents should know that a classification of beneficiaries has been established:
- The following will be included in the kindergarten out of turn: orphans, children from foster families, children of judges and prosecutors.
- First of all: large families, children serving in the Russian army, who were injured while performing combat work or who disappeared or died during it.
- Preference is given to single mothers, children of teachers and educators, and children whose brothers or sisters attend this institution.
The list of beneficiaries is quite large, so you should collect all the necessary papers in advance and not delay the registration.
How to check the queue or find out that you have been given a seat
How to check the queue for kindergarten?
All submitted applications are posted taking into account the date and age of the child. Applications are sorted, and a list of beneficiaries is added here. Each application is assigned a serial number. To keep abreast of events and monitor the progress of the queue, this number needs to be written down somewhere. This will help you regularly monitor the queue for kindergarten in Moscow.
What are the reasons for shifting the queue?
- The line will get longer if someone moves.
- For technical reasons, if there are problems with the system.
- Subject to temporary registration in Moscow, it goes down (cases when getting into a state educational institution is practically impossible).
Facts were recorded when children were registered, notifications were received, and the child’s name disappeared from the list.
Therefore, parents need to be active and not rely on officials. In order not to lose your place, you need to independently monitor the situation, regularly clarify and check the queue for kindergarten in Moscow.
