How to make applique flowers with your own hands. Lesson on appliqué "flower"
Volumetric paper applique - a unique look children's creativity, thanks to which you can glue three-dimensional figures of animals, robots, cartoon characters, houses and even letters of the alphabet. The templates and diagrams that are on our website will help you with this.
How to do it correctly?
Although the title " 3D applique” and sounds unusual, it’s not difficult to make. To do this, just print ready-made templates or diagrams, cut them out and glue them along the fold lines. The applique templates are made in such a way that by bending and gluing them along the designated lines, you can get a three-dimensional toy.
Most templates are already presented in color, so you will need to print them on a color printer. However, there are also colorless diagrams on which only conditional lines are indicated. It is enough to apply glue to the side parts of the workpiece and fold it as required by the diagram. If you decide to paint such a blank, you need to do it in advance, since it will be difficult to paint the applique in volumetric form.
Here are some examples of such applications.
Templates
Pyramid
This is the simplest applique that a child can easily make.
- Print the template.
- Cut along the outline.
- If you want to make a colored pyramid, you need to color it before forming the pyramid or simply cut out a template from colored paper.
- Fold the parts of the workpiece intended for gluing.
- Cover them with glue and form a pyramid.
Magic forest
Colored toys
This application is a little more complicated, but its principle of operation is the same. There is no need to color it: you just need to print it on a color printer.
- Cut out the printed template.
- Fold the template along the fold lines.
- Lubricate the “wings” with glue and assemble SpongeBob.
- Check that the glued parts are held tightly.
poppy flower
Now let's try a more complex application - make a poppy flower.
- Print out the flower templates. If you decide to make a bouquet, you will need several blanks.
- Cut out the components of the applique.
- Place the flower corolla blanks on top of each other so that the petals of the top one are in the spaces between the petals of the bottom one.
- Glue the whisk together, giving it a three-dimensional shape.
- Glue the black center inside.
- Glue leaves on the outside of the flower at equal distances from each other.
- If you are making a bouquet, then each flower can be placed on a wire stem wrapped in colored paper. You can also stick flowers on a postcard or a pre-prepared base.
Such voluminous applications will look natural and simply magnificent.
Templates
You can make almost any flowers this way by printing out blanks from the website or preparing voluminous appliqués from multi-colored paper. Here, for example, is a lush carnation. However, unlike the poppy, this applique is more complex, since you will have to form the corolla of the flower from six parts.
Dog booth
Here is another more complex application. From three main parts you can put together a dog house.
- Print the templates and cut them out along the outline.
- Fold along the fold lines.
- Attach the walls to the base of the booth, forming a cube with two pentagonal walls.
- Glue the green roof on top.
The booth is ready. If you don't have a color printer at home, you can cut out parts from colored paper or simply color the blanks.
Corrugated paper
Corrugated paper is more suitable for creating voluminous appliqués. It is initially a little convex, and if you use this quality correctly, you can do interesting things.
Cornflowers
- Prepare the base for the applique. It can be cardboard or thick colored paper, which is not saturated with glue.
- We apply the outlines of the drawing to the base in advance.
- From corrugated paper blue(you can take paper of any shade) cut out small squares measuring 1 sq. cm.
- Place a pencil in the center of each square and roll it slightly so that the squares take on a three-dimensional appearance.
- Without removing the pencil, apply glue to the end of the square and glue it.
- Fill the entire drawing with such squares.
This technique of applique from corrugated paper is called “trimming”. The good thing about it is that the flaws are almost invisible. It is simple enough that even kids can do it.
Hedgehogs
These voluminous appliqués made from colored corrugated paper are simple, but look simply wonderful.
- Prepare the base. It could be a candy box, colored paper, a postcard, etc.
- Fold a sheet of corrugated paper 4 or 5 times.
- Draw 2 circles. To make them even, you can use a compass, cup or glass.
- Cut out the circles. One hedgehog requires 10-15 circles.
- Glue the circles together, applying glue only in the center. The edges should remain free.
- Make frequent cuts and fluff out the ends.
- Cut out a triangular hedgehog muzzle from cardboard and glue it to the body.
- Place the hedgehogs on the base.
- Eyes, mouth and nose can be drawn with a black felt-tip pen or cut out of black paper and glued.
- In the same way, you can make flowers and grass for a clearing from corrugated paper by folding the paper and making cuts on it.
Here's what kind of hedgehogs you can get.
How to make a 3D postcard from paper?
Applications from ordinary colored or corrugated paper can be made at home, in kindergarten or aesthetic center. Rainbow. It is made in much the same way as a flower: the child crumples colored paper and carefully places it in rows, observing the sequence of colors in the rainbow.
Application "Rainbow"
Using the 3D appliqué technique from colored paper, an autumn tree turns out to be very beautiful.
You can make a heart applique from pieces of red and pink paper. We use a heart made of cardboard as the basis.
We crumple the pieces a little and glue them to the base. The craft will look interesting if you alternate red and pink lumps.
Excellent appliques are obtained using the cutting technique. Small pieces of paper are glued tightly to one another using a thin stick.
This is an airplane that can be folded from pieces of paper using the cutting technique.
Instead of glue, small pieces of paper can be fixed to a plasticine base.
Flat applications from pieces of paper
The herringbone applique from colored paper is made in a very interesting technology. Pieces of thin tissue paper are glued onto triangular bases. In this case, the pieces can seal the edges of the Christmas trees and stick to one another. Only after this the triangular base is glued onto the pre-painted background.

Kids think abstractly; for them, such a trifle as the color or shape of a character does not matter if his image conveys child-like emotions. But how to make an application exactly so that the baby feels soul mate? Here's a great example of this!
Meet Tsypa! He has:
- Body - square;
- Eye – 2 circles (black and white, and a little more white);
- Beak - triangle;
- The paws are also triangular;
- The wing is a semicircle;

Progress of the lesson:
Educator: Hello, guys!
Children: Hello!
Educator: Guys, let's look out the window - what a warm spring sun smiles at us, warms us, nature wakes up, green grass appears - spring has come to us!
Spring is coming to us
With quick steps,
And the snowdrifts melt under her feet.
Black thawed patches
Visible in the fields.
You can see the very warm feet of spring (Zakhoder B.)
Guys, the snow has already all melted, green grass is already visible, which means they will soon begin to bloom...? (The teacher asks the children a riddle about flowers)
Purify the air
Create comfort
The windows are green,
They bloom all year round.
What is this, guys?
Children: Flowers!
Educator: Correct (smiles). Do you like picking flowers?
Children: Yes!
Educator: Who do you give the collected flowers to?
Children: Mom, grandma...but they fade quickly (sad).
Educator: Let’s make one ourselves today magic flower, which you can give to your mother, and it will not wither (intriguing)?
Children: Let's go!
Educator: Please look at what is prepared on your tables. Did everyone have double-sided colored paper, scissors, glue sticks, plastic lids, green plasticine, cardboard, paper napkins of different colors?
Children: Yes!
Educator: Then let's first remember what our flower consists of. I will ask you riddles about components flowers, and you guess them and we will find out what details of the flower we have to make today. Are you ready?
Children: Yes!
Educator:
One is digging in the ground,
The other is bathed in light;
And although they are friends,
They cannot be exchanged.
Children: Root and leaves
Educator: We also have to make the petals and the beautiful center of the flower, it should be bright. Let's get started, and to make it easier for us to create, I will play a musical work by P.I. Tchaikovsky, stunning in its beauty. "Waltz of the Flowers" (Sounds "Waltz of the Flowers").
Now, guys, let's get started. So, you have cardboard stencils for flower petals and colored paper on your tables. Place the stencil on colored paper and carefully trace it and cut them out.
(Children trace a stencil of petals on colored paper and cut it out. The teacher helps those children who have difficulty making templates or cutting them out)
Educator: Look, guys, how beautiful each of you turned out. Now we have to make a stem for the flower. Take a sheet of colored paper, bend it exactly in half - like this (The teacher shows how a sheet folded in half should look like). Then carefully wrap the stick with this sheet and glue the end with glue. While you are completing this task, let’s remember what flowers appear first? I'll tell you a riddle, and you guess?
At the snow-covered hummocks,
Under a white snow cap,
We found a little flower
Half frozen, barely alive.
Children: Snowdrops!
Educator: That’s right, and now let’s remember one more flower that is one of the first to appear in the spring:
Spring is just around the corner!
After the bitter cold of winter
Wakes up from sleep
All nature. Even puddles
The ice won't cover overnight
The sun drives winter away!
The kidneys swell with juice,
And green leaves
Soon in the breeze
They'll play! In the meantime
Colors of the sun by the river
Lights have appeared!
All! The frost is over!
Mimosas are blooming! (Kosovitsky V. Color of spring)
Educator: Show me, guys, your stems? Ay, what a great fellow, everyone’s stems are neat. You probably really want to please your mothers with flowers. Now you and I need to collect the flower itself. To do this, take paper napkin the color that you like best and which the color will suit to your petals. Did you take it?
Children: Yes!
Educator: Now you need to crumple this napkin a little, this will be the core of our flower. Let's wrinkle it carefully so that the napkin doesn't tear. Did you do it? (Children nod) Well done! Now take a glue stick, smear the middle of the first layer of petals cut out of colored paper, and glue the second one to it. Then we smear the second layer of petals in the middle and glue the third one to it. After this, we smear the middle of the third layer of petals and glue our crumpled napkin to it - the middle of the flower. Well, whoever has the neatest flower. Try your best, guys, the flowers should turn out neat and beautiful - this is for your mother, after all. Are you ready?
Children: Ready.
Educator: Very good. Now take the remaining half sheet of colored paper, fold it in half again and cut it into two parts (children follow the teacher’s instructions)
Educator: Did you manage?
Children: Yes!
Educator: Great! Now we fold each half like an accordion and draw half a leaf of a flower on it, cut out the resulting stencil - like this (The teacher shows the algorithm for cutting out leaves for a flower). Now it's your turn! (smiles)
Children cut out flower leaves.
Educator: Now take a glue stick, smear the bottom of the leaf and glue it to the stem. (children glue leaves).
Educator: Now let’s prepare a “stand” for the flower. To do this, take green plasticine, make a ball out of it and place it in plastic cover. Like this (The teacher shows how to do it)
Children repeat after teacher.
Educator: Your stem turned out to be longer than your stick, right?
Children: Yes!
Educator: Now you need to cut the remaining part of the stem in four places - like this (shows) and bend the edges. Now we’ll coat each edge with glue and glue our flower to it. Did it turn out beautifully? (enthusiastically).
Children: Yes!
Educator: And now we need to place our flower in its green stand - like this (shows).
Children repeat after the teacher.
Look how beautiful it turned out! Do you like it?
Children: Yes!
Educator: Your mothers will be happy today. Guys, you are doing great today, look what flowers have bloomed in our group with your help, and most importantly, they will not wither!
In our group on the window,
In a green country,
In painted pots
The flowers have grown.
Here is rosean, geranium, crassula,
Family of spiny cacti.
We'll water them early.
Me and all my friends.
Guys, remember, flowers play very important role in our lives: they not only please the eye with their appearance, but also purify the air and kill harmful bacteria. Therefore, flowers need to be loved and cared for properly. Will you help mothers take care of flowers?
Children: Yes!
Educator: Did you like your flowers that you made for your mothers?
Children: Very much!
Educator: Then let's put them on the table for now, let them delight us with their beauty until the evening, and in the evening you will give them to mothers. Agreed?
Children: Yes!
Educator: Great. Guys, you did a great job today, well done! Thank you, class is over. Now you can go play.
The children go off to play.
