My idea of the values of family life. What are family values
How do you understand? In your home, family values are certain rules and the ideals by which you live, trying not to violate them. The list of family values can be endless and the values are unique for each family, but we will try to highlight the 10 main ones.
Clearly defined ones help strengthen the foundation for creating a strong and united family. When a relationship lasts long enough, it often appears weak points, especially when life doesn't go according to plan. Strong and consistent family values play important role in and confidence for each family member. Here are the 10 main ones family values.
1.
Affiliation. It is very important to me that each family member feels that they are loved, that they belong to someone, and that they are important. Creating a close-knit family means you spend every free moment together and have family events, but keep in mind that everyone is different. Building something lasting is great, but every person should have the freedom to pursue the activities that they find enjoyable. People become more courageous and risk-taking if they know they have that safe place to return to when things don't work out. Gathering as a family not only on special occasions, but also just spending time together helps to strengthen the sense of belonging.
2.
Flexibility. Despite the rules and foundations already formed in the family, do not forget to sometimes be flexible in your decisions. Not being willing to show a little loyalty can go a long way. The more flexibility you show in making decisions, the happier your family will be. Imagine if one of the family members always believes that only he is right - this will not bring much happiness to the family.
3. Respect. It's a little harder to define. Respect each other- means taking into account the feelings, thoughts, needs and preferences of others when making decisions. This also means recognizing the involvement of the family as a whole. The only way to earn and keep people's respect is to show that you respect them yourself. Respect, as a very important family value, will be demonstrated both at home and at school, at work and in other public places.
4. Honesty. This is the basis for the continuation of any relationship. Mother-daughter, husband-wife, sister-brother. Without honesty, you will not be able to create and maintain relationships. Encourage honesty by being understanding and respectful when someone tells you they have done wrong. If we don’t do this and get angry when someone confesses to us about their bad deed, then next time they will simply hide it to avoid disrespect.
5. Forgiveness. who offended you, a very important choice. Yes, it's a choice. This is not some feeling that randomly gnaws at you when you feel that another person has “suffered” greatly. This can be difficult because many of us tend to equate forgiveness with the phrase *everything is okay*. It's not the same. does not promote mutual respect between close relatives. Keep in mind that everyone makes mistakes, we all sometimes say things we shouldn't say, as none of us are perfect. Try to resolve problematic situations with dignity, achieve understanding and move on. Life is too short.
6. Generosity. Giving without thinking “what will I get in return” is an important quality for those who want to become a responsible, productive member of society. Generosity allows us to sympathize and empathize as we try to understand what people want or need. Being generous doesn't just mean giving money to those who need it. It's also your time, love, attention and sometimes even your property.
7. Curiosity. Children are very curious by nature. If you took even a couple of minutes, you would clearly see this quality. For some, this curiosity wanes. I think it's important to encourage and push our children, and even ourselves, to be curious about things. How to ignite our curiosity? Ask lots of questions. Read about things you know very little about and don't be afraid to say you don't know something. Critical thinking is an important skill that can be learned and developed by exploring your own curiosity.
8. Communication. Communication is both an art and a science. will most likely lead to misfortunes and misunderstandings. Small problems grow into larger ones, and when they eventually boil over and rise to the surface, they are unlikely to be resolved calmly. Communication is much more than just communication of the mind. In addition to oral speech, communication also extends to tone, volume, facial expression, eyes, and gestures. I believe that this is the most important value for a family. When people feel like they can talk openly about anything—hopes, dreams, fears, successes, or failures—without fear of judgment, it is encouraging and empowering. connection between people.
9. Responsibility. We would all like to be seen as responsible people. Some of us are, and some of us are not. with experience. As a child, you may have been shown how to put your toys away after you've played, how to clean your room, or how and when to feed the dog. This sense of responsibility increases in adulthood. An adult who has an internal sense of responsibility does not need to be forced to come to work on time, answer the phone, or complete work on time. Show responsibility in the family to instill this quality in each family member.
10. Traditions. This is by far the most fun for me. I think tradition is what makes a family unique, brings people together and creates a sense of belonging for everyone. Traditions don't have to be expensive, complicated or require a lot of work. It could be something simple, like a *lazy Saturday* where you just sip coffee and chat together, or a family gala dinner when the whole family gathers at one table. If you do not currently have traditions in your family, create them! All traditions originated from a specific person. Why not let your family traditions start with you? Show creativity and have fun.
Darina KataevaThe family gives the person true state calmness and tranquility. It makes us united and resistant to difficulties. The formation of a child’s personality begins in the family, so the environment that prevails in his home in childhood has a strong influence on his future life. But what is it? What traditions exist in some families? And how to determine your family values?
What are family values?
Family values and traditions are the foundation that determines our attitude to life. Even outside the home, a person will act according to the values established in his heart. In reality, they can be not only positive, since not every family has a decent atmosphere. Therefore, it is important for every parent to create an environment of love and kindness in order to raise a socially active and mature personality.
Although family and family values are two different concepts, they cannot exist without each other. Without the foundation and basis of unity in marriage, people in love will not be able to achieve, so a family without established principles simply cannot exist. They allow you to maintain spiritual unity and integrity. Even serious problems do not destroy strong and warm relationships.
5 Traditional Family Values
To understand exactly what family values are, it is necessary to consider some of them in more detail. The main ones include:
This quality is fundamental in family relationships. Its manifestation is reflected in the development of other qualities. There are many, and family love and agape are clearly demonstrated in the family. They allow you to show this quality, no matter what! Children feel a manifestation of love towards them, and the lack can greatly affect their future life and development in society. There should be unity between spouses, and it is important that the child sees this and understands his place in the family.
Decency.
Honesty and trust should have a place in your family constitution. Never discuss other people in a negative light in front of your child. He remembers everything perfectly, adopts it and even repeats it. Therefore, the baby’s behavior is a mirror reflection of the actions and words of the parents. Don't try to build your own happiness on someone else's misfortune. Know the boundaries of what is permitted and do not cross them.
Headship.
Each family member has their own role, so it is important to know and respect it. - this is a man. You, as a wise woman, accept his position even in cases where your spouse’s position is not entirely clear to you. This . Seeing, the child will understand the seriousness of such actions. Women also have their own role, no less honorable. She is the keeper of the hearth, monitors the comfort in the house and raises the child. Although children occupy an important place in the lives of parents, they need to be made to understand that they are not the kings of the family.
Happiness and satisfaction from life directly depend on your health. Please pay attention sufficient attention sleep patterns, rest, nutrition and exercise. With the right routine, you will experience joy, become more energetic and get rid of stress.
Respect.
Mutual respect is the foundation of marriage and family. By showing this quality to elderly parents, you will notice dramatic changes in the child’s behavior. He will easily absorb the same attitude towards you. It is important that the manifestation of respect is not occasional, but constant.
How to determine your family values?
To monitor the process of establishing positive family values and raising children on them, do regular self-examination. It will help you look at marriage relationships with a healthy eye; you will see the main problems and weaknesses.
Analyze the behavior of each family member.
The behavior of both the loved one and the child should be assessed. Parents set the foundation, so they should be attentive to themselves. Evaluate not only relationships among yourself, but also in society in general. What children say or do in kindergarten is an indicator of the whole family and its presence of certain values.
Ask for personal opinions.
Teach your children to express an opinion on any subject, but pay close attention to how they do it. If the manner of speaking shows categoricalness, this is not a good indicator. It can be seen that parents also express unfounded points of view, without taking anything into account and without considering the views of others.
Pay attention to how each family member treats others.
By assessing the attitude of a spouse towards his parents, one can judge with complete confidence how he will treat his wife. The friendship of the children shows what family values were instilled in them from childhood. Evaluate every action your family members take so you can see where you can improve.
If the foundation of family values is laid in childhood, in later life they are clearly reflected during education and. Think about what would be worth changing.
Take measures to change the order in the family.
By conducting a personality self-assessment and assessing the true behavior of your children and loved one, you will get a clear picture of what needs to be changed and what is worth paying attention to. If a child deceives his parents or forges signatures in his diary, it means there is a lack of honesty and openness in the family.
Family traditions
Every family has values and traditions, we just may not focus on their presence or even think about their existence. If you, as parents, see that there is a problem, try to find the reason and make the solution pleasant for everyone.
An excellent option is to establish family traditions, which represent the norms, practices and customs accepted in the family. Some are even passed down from generation to generation. They form a feeling of stability and harmony in the hearts of children and adults, because regardless of any other circumstances, the planned event will take place. Thanks to traditions, children have vivid memories of their childhood and past.
In every family, parents establish different traditions. Their formation is influenced by the past of the parents themselves and the order that existed in their childhood. Some focus on noticed problems and think about fixing them.
Family traditions: examples
Eat daily with the whole family. It seems that this is an elementary tradition, but, in fact, it has a strong influence on every member of the family. During a regular dinner, an exchange of thoughts occurs, we tell each other about the past day, we can understand the state of the heart and the life of children and a loved one. If you introduce such a tradition into your family, you will be united, united and not indifferent to each other. To begin with, you can introduce it at least once a day during meals.
Once a week or a month, visit your elderly parents and have dinner together. It is not necessary that there be any reason for organizing such an event. Seeing your deep respect for your parents, your children will be charged with a similar attitude and show due respect to you.
View your family album. Do you think printed photographs are a thing of the past? In fact, this is not true. Just remember how many pleasant memories remained in your heart from childhood, when you looked through photographs of your parents together, observed their past and enjoyed the moments they experienced together. Don't deprive your children of the same joy and satisfaction that you experienced as a child.
Play! Famous exciting game“Loto” has become an integral part of the traditions of many families. Despite its long existence, it does not lose its popularity and relevance. If you are not attracted to Lotto, organize another, more modern game, such as Alias or Understand Me. Board games conducive to open communication and fun pastime.
Crafts. Making something with your own hands is useful and exciting activity. It could even become . Involve your children in such activities; with the help of even basic crafts, children will develop a positive attitude towards work and work. Give the finished craft to your friends or acquaintances. This is an additional factor in establishing such family values: love, kindness, friendliness, generosity.
Remember, the formation of family values occurs even in the game. Children will not even suspect that your goal is to educate them, they will simply spend time with you and enjoy a happy and carefree time!
How have family values changed?
The media imposes views and things on us that can actually have a negative impact on our lives. Until now, advertisers use the 12th frame system, which we don’t even think about when watching TV shows and modern films.
Norms in society are also changing. If earlier marriage and family were in first place in the lives of all people, now girls are instilled from childhood with a love of career, power and a high position in society. The changes that began to occur since 1990 have become especially noticeable. This was the beginning of the sexual and feminist revolution. Young people think about freedom and marriage. Extramarital cohabitation is considered the norm, and same-sex marriage is even officially acceptable.

Family and family values
What is family for a person? A word that everyone understands. It is with each of us from the first moments of life.Family is home, dad and mom, close people. These are common concerns, joys and deeds. This is love and happiness. Family is the rear and the foundation on which all life is built. We are all born into a family, and growing up, we create our own. This is how man is made.
Families are different: cheerful and happy, strict and conservative, unhappy and incomplete. Why is this so? Different families have different characters like people. If a person, as an individual, determines his life based on his life priorities, then the family, as a complex consisting of individuals interconnected by family and emotional relationships, builds its present and future based on its own values.
Family and family values are the most important foundation on which the life of any person is built. The formation of personality begins in the family: family values instill the necessary skills for harmonious development holistic nature.
What is most important in a family? It is very difficult to answer this question unambiguously. Love? Understanding? Caring and participating? Or maybe dedication and hard work? Or strict adherence to family traditions?
Family and family valuesThey are always inextricably linked and do not exist without each other. If there is no family, then family values automatically lose their meaning. No legal relationship between a man and a woman exists or has ever existed without fundamental principles. It is thanks to them that over the years the spouses have been able to maintain spiritual health, unity and integrity. Traditional family values are built on care and love.
The change and development of society, new views accordingly form a new understanding of family values. Today, the moral priorities of parents and children differ significantly. Children's attitude towards this concept is more progressive, but tough. This trend is observed due to the fact that each subsequent young generation takes from the previous one only the most necessary things, introducing into it its own, currently relevant, family customs and traditions. Of course, concepts such as trust, love, mutual assistance, respect and kindness remain fundamental for the person of the 21st century. But, sadly, they are subject to pressure from a variety of factors, which are determined by the problems of society.
According to the results of sociological surveys, family national traditions and customs among young people are not in first or even second place. They were overtaken by education, career, relationships with friends, passions. In order to preserve traditional family values, examples for the younger generation must first of all be given from personal life experience. And even if someone did not grow up in such a prosperous environment and was not able to absorb a true loving relationship with their upbringing, it is necessary to try, already at a conscious age, to make up for what they lost and, through their attitude towards their neighbor, try to make this world a better and brighter place. Everyone can do this.
How are family values taught? Today, interactions between close people can be divided into modern and traditional, and they sometimes conflict with each other. Each person has his own individual idea of how to save a relationship and marriage. My parents taught me something about this issue, and I managed to understand something from my own life experience. When a young family has just formed, spouses do not always think about what it means to respect their partner’s opinion and take into account his personal space. Often they immediately begin to expect only good things from each other and believe that it is the partner who should create this good. At this stage, it should be understood that the responsibility for a harmonious union lies with both the man and the woman equally. Here, everyone, taking their position, according to gender, must protect and cultivate everything that can make a marriage successful and future children happy. You may not be ideal, but you have to try. In any period of a relationship (it doesn’t matter if it’s a couple who have been married for many years, or a young family), it is necessary to engage in self-education and work on oneself. You can learn to solve any problems peacefully, which will be the beginning of the path to mutual happiness. As a result, soon the spouses’ lives will change for the better, communication will improve or be transformed. This is how a real family is formed, overcoming difficulties, and family traditions become sacred and respected among all relatives.
Children are the flowers of life. In no case should we forget about the little ones. Children, first of all, need peace and well-being in the family, because they are the most unprotected and vulnerable family link. It is necessary to show them favor and show by example how important family is, and explain why it is necessary to honor traditions. Such moral education will not be in vain.
Due to the information deficit and due to the new values of money and status imposed by society, children have pushed aside the most expensive and necessary components of their normal life to the background. Forming in children a correct concept of life and ethical standards will be the key to their happy family life in the future. School institutions also help children and teenagers understand this topic. Recently, it has become increasingly common to carry out class hour, where family values are the main topic of conversation. This is a big step forward, since the proper development of a child’s self-awareness will help him find his place in life.
Core family values
For any family, the list of family values will contain an infinite number of items. But each of us should have a clear understanding of those family values that help strengthen the foundation for creating a strong and friendly family. Knowledge of moral and ethical principles plays an important role in strengthening trust and increasing confidence in each family member.
- A feeling of importance and necessity. It is important that each family member knows that he is loved, valued, and needed. Even as a close-knit family, each family member should be given space and freedom to function. Family is a place where you can gather without “special” occasions, holidays, it is a safe place to which you can return when something doesn’t work out, they will accept you, listen to you, support you, help you.
- Flexibility in solving family problems is the path to happiness and a sense of comfort. Each family has its own order, daily routine, structure, and rules. But too many rules and order can lead to deterioration of relationships and the emergence of resentment.
- Honesty forms a deep bond between family members. Encourage honesty by practicing understanding and respect for any actions that your loved ones do. If you are angry about what happened, most likely, next time they will hide information from you in order to avoid disrespect for your personality.
- You need to learn to forgive people who have offended you. Everyone makes mistakes. Life is too short to waste it on grudges. You should get answers to all the questions that concern you from the offender and make a choice - accept, forgive, let go and move on.
- Learn to be generousfor attention, love, time, communication, even some of your material possessions
- Communication is a separate art. The transfer of information and feelings is an important element of development family relations. When people feel that they can easily and openly express their dreams, hopes, fears, successes, failures, then this only helps to strengthen the marriage bond. Lack of communication leads to small issues developing into larger ones, which end in quarrels, avoidance, and divorce.
- Responsibility. We all want to appear responsible to others. Some of us are more responsible, others less responsible. A sense of responsibility does not require much “pushing” to get the job done on time and correctly.
- Traditions - this is what makes a family unique, they unite all family members.
- Be a role model.Adults act as examples for their children. They pass on their problem solving skills to them, collaboration, communication, etc.
- Evaluate your contribution to the development and strengthening of your family ties.Although family relationships are based on strong blood ties, in a large family, feelings of closeness weaken over time, so additional effort and time must be devoted to maintaining strong family ties. From time to time you should remind yourself of the importance of family in your life.
The family is the first school of life for a new person who has just been born; it is an environment in which he learns to use his abilities to understand the outside world and cope with its unpredictable gifts. Everything you learn from your family becomes your value system, which guides your actions. A happy, joyful family life is not an accident, but a great achievement based on work and choice. Starting a family is a responsible act that will require a lot of time, expense, effort, and energy. But this is a worthy cause, this is our main cause in life. We want our actions to be worthy of respect.

This is, first of all, a home, in the sense of it, when it is full of relatives and loved ones, where you can find peace and support, where everyone loves you and takes care of you. This is the rear and the foundation on which all life is built. We are all born into a family, and growing up, we create our own. This is how man is made and this is how life is.
If you look closely, you will notice that families are different. There are cheerful and happy, strict and conservative, unhappy and incomplete. Why is this so? After all, it should be a strong stronghold, based on the love of a man and a woman. Different families have different personalities, just like people. If a person, as an individual, determines his life based on his life priorities, then the family, as a complex consisting of individuals strongly interconnected by family and emotional relationships, builds its present and future based on its own values.
The role of family values in our lives
Family and family values are two concepts that cannot exist without each other. Family values lose their meaning if there is no family. And the family cannot exist without fundamental principles that can preserve its integrity and spiritual health. Family values are the attitude of person to person, saturated with love and care. A man and a woman, creating a union, each bring their own to it, and all this together forms the foundation of family relationships, creating an atmosphere in which their children will be born and grow up.
What are the values of family life?
So what exactly are family values and why are they such? In order to answer this question, it is necessary to consider the main ones in more detail. Examples of such values will help show their importance individually and powerful force in their totality.
He, she and their children - how can they live happily if love is not the basis of their relationship? Love is such a deep and comprehensive feeling that simply cannot be accurately described in words. We can only understand that this is a strong attachment to another person, a desire to constantly be near him. E. Fromm identified love as a special type of unity between people, which has ideal value in all the great humanistic religions and philosophical systems of the history of the West and East. Love is the most powerful force in a relationship imaginable.
People become close to each other when they feel a sense of support and care from their partner. Existing in society, a person is forced to constantly face difficulties and problems of various kinds, severe stresses that occur due to the collapse of any hopes and dreams in life. It is extremely difficult, almost impossible, to survive this storm alone. A home with loved ones becomes a quiet haven where you can get help, support, care, relax and gain strength to live on and enjoy life.
No union is possible without respect and mutual understanding of its partners. Thus, the relationship between spouses and between parents and children reaches high level development only if each side understands the feelings, aspirations and interests of the other. At the same time, it is unacceptable to forcefully interfere and invade a partner’s personal space in order to break, subjugate another personality and “remake” it for oneself.
Honesty and sincerity are the key to purity and transparency of relations between partners. This applies to both systems: husband - wife and parents - children. These qualities, when fully expressed, give rise to another essential attribute of a happy home – trust. Trust cannot be bought at any price; it can be hard earned and very easy to lose.
Such examples of values can be continued for a long time. The most important thing in them is their semantic load and strength, which can give a long and happy life to any union.
In society, family values are usually divided into two types - traditional and modern. Oddly enough, they can often come into conflict with each other.
Traditional family values
When we talk about family values in the generally accepted sense, we can easily operate with this concept and understand in general terms what it means. When traditional family values become the topic of conversation, discussions and certain misunderstandings arise. There are many definitions of this term, but they all tend to be cumbersome and indigestible. The simplest definition would be to characterize this form of values as the result of interaction over a long period of time between a society with its views and religious norms recognized in this society, aimed at preserving the institution of the family.
Traditional family values are constantly cultivated and introduced into the lives of spouses. These are exactly what their grandmothers are trying to instill in young people, you can hear about them on the TV screen, they talk about them in church, etc. Faith, fidelity, love, marriage, respect, the sanctity of motherhood, procreation - this is far from complete, but the main list family values. The main semantic load they carry is marriage, as the only correct form living together men and women, whose goal is, while maintaining faith and love for each other, to procreate and raise children.
The problem in the perception of traditional family values in our time is the almost complete absence of any freedom of choice and change in personal life. So, for example, divorce contradicts traditional canons, but in our time it is somehow difficult to agree with this, because situations and people are different.
Modern family values
As society and its attitudes change and evolve, modern family values emerge. They can be roughly divided into the values of parents and children. These two groups have much in common with each other, but the one that belongs to our children has a tougher and more progressive character. This happens naturally because each subsequent generation tries to take only the most necessary from the previous one and introduces its own, currently relevant family values.
Of course, concepts such as love, trust, respect, mutual assistance, kindness and understanding are fundamental to modern family values. But, unfortunately, they are under serious pressure from various factors caused by the problems of society. Thus, according to the results of sociological surveys, family values are far from being in first place for young people. They were overtaken by: career, education, relationships with friends and parents.
In order to preserve the family as the joy of our life, it is necessary, first of all, to show our children by example that it really is such. Even if some of us did not grow up in precisely such conditions, and were not able to absorb real values in relationships along with our upbringing, we must try for each other and make this world a better place.
Fostering family values
Each of us has our own understanding of what should define and sustain a marriage and relationship. Our parents taught us this, and we understood something ourselves. We go through life with this reserve, without thinking that a loved one may have slightly different concepts about this and to a different extent. When entering into marriage, spouses, as a rule, begin to expect the best from each other—that is, to expect. It is a big mistake to wait for someone else to make the first move. It is necessary to begin to cultivate and protect everything that can make the union of two people successful and children happy. Moreover, you need to engage in self-education, which is quite difficult, but extremely necessary. Acquiring the ability to restrain anger when it would seem impossible, learning to solve emerging problems in a peaceful and reasonable way is only the beginning of the path to mutual happiness. But, believe me, the result will not keep you waiting, and you will soon feel that life is getting better and only good things await you.
We must not forget about children, they must not only be taught how important family and peace are in it, they must constantly prove this statement by example. And then, when they become adults, you will be glad that your efforts were not in vain, because for parents, the happiness of their children is the meaning of their whole life. Thus, nurturing family values is a must for all of us.
Family values at school
Instilling in a child a love of family and its fundamental elements is the direct responsibility of the parents. Previously, very little time was devoted to this topic in schools. But, recently, given that the negative background in society is constantly increasing, which has a direct impact on the unformed children’s consciousness, in educational institutions lessons about family and its values began to be introduced. This is a big step forward in the proper development of a child’s self-awareness and in his understanding of his place in this world. As mentioned earlier, due to the information deficit and due to the new values of money and status imposed by society, children have relegated the most expensive and necessary components of their normal life to the background. And this threatens a real catastrophe for a full-fledged human society.
Thanks to the fact that family values in school have already begun to be highlighted by professional teachers, that this direction is supported by the government of our country, concerned about the fate of the new generation, we can only hope that all the efforts of both parents and schools will bear their precious fruits.
The values of family life are what we should always protect
When your loved one is nearby and you hear the ringing laughter of children playing, your heart is filled with tenderness, the world plays with all the colors of the rainbow, and you want to live forever. I want to stop this moment, there is only one desire for all this to last as long as possible. Is this impossible? Nothing is impossible - you just need to learn to cherish these and other wonderful moments. Take care of love and mutual understanding. Appreciate the trust of your loved ones, because this is the most important reward they can give you for your attitude towards them. Do not hurt the feelings of your loved ones, because they never expect this from you, which means they will be completely defenseless before the blow. The values of family life are really all we have.
Every day happy family is a voluntary sacrifice that its members make for each other. There is no need to be afraid of this word, because only when one consciously concedes to the other in at least something or sacrifices his interests in order to help or provide pleasant moments will the long-awaited mutual understanding and peace come in every family.
You can talk a lot and for a long time about the importance of seven in society, about its role and functions. But this is not the purpose of our article. There are more important things that we ourselves rarely think about, but we often mention them.
Family values are a multifaceted thing - there are thousands of definitions, each of which will be correct. This is exactly the case when they say “how many people - so many opinions.” Before reading the article, think about what family values mean to you personally?
Undoubtedly, if you put together a list of all values, it will be endless. But without them, experts say, it is impossible to build a happy and friendly family, because these are not just words, these are the principles that you adhere to, your goals and objectives for the future. For a future together.
Examples of family values
Affiliation. It is important that every family member knows that they are important and that they make a difference. You may be a close-knit family that spends every free moment together, but this does not mean that your interests should be absolutely identical. It is important that despite any hobbies, despite unpleasant events, etc. things, the child and every family member should know that they have a place to return to, that they are believed in and expected. Joint lunches and dinners, going to the movies and zoos, or just an evening spent with family will help strengthen this feeling of unity.
Respect. Everyone defines for themselves what respect is. Some people consider it respectful to consider all points of view when making a decision. It is also recognition of the thoughts, ideas and character of a family member, recognizing him for who he really is. It is very important not to cross the line of fear and respect, since in most cases one excludes the other. Achieve respect not through violence and threats, but through wise decisions, taking into account the wishes of you and your family. Respect, as a family value, is important not only at home, but also at school, at work and when communicating with other people.
Flexibility. The ability to accept other people’s opinions, not constantly insist on the same position. Of course, a clear life schedule wouldn’t hurt, but don’t forget that living by rules...well, it’s a bit boring in many ways. Therefore, do not deprive yourself of the usual joys of life - make surprises, be silly, arrange unexpected evening dinners or walks. All this will strengthen your family and teach children how to work and rest properly.
Honesty- This is the key to any relationship, both friendly and family. No family can live without this. Without honesty, it is impossible to create the deep and lasting bonds that should be an integral part of every family. Don't scold your children for every bad thing they do, this way you can show them how good and right it is to be honest. If we tell someone something bad when he comes to us with bad news, then next time he will simply hide from us what he wanted to say and stop being honest, because he knows that he will not get it. the answer is nothing good. And this can threaten the loss of not only honesty, but also human trust.
Forgiveness. Forgiveness is not always easy, but it is very important to be able to do it. Forgiveness is a decision, it is your choice, and not just a feeling that the person has paid enough for the offense and we are ready to have mercy. The concept of family and resentment are incompatible. Yes, we, of course, can be offended by our parents or sisters and brothers for some misdeeds or offensive words. But, in no case forget that this is yours. close person, with whom all of yours is connected future life. Well, it’s impossible, it’s simply impossible to live your whole life without the closest people - it destroys a person from the inside, destroys his psyche and his peace of mind - this is my opinion, with which you may or may not agree. In fact, it is much more difficult to forgive loved ones, but this is what makes the family stronger and more friendly, it brings us closer together.
Don’t forget that every person can make a mistake and stumble; our task is to understand and accept. Life is too short to waste it on quarrels and disagreements. It is best to talk directly and clear up any misunderstandings.
Generosity- this is giving without thinking, “what will this mean for me, what benefit will I get?” For a family, such an approach is impossible. Thanks to this feeling, we learn compassion, we learn to think not only about ourselves and our interests, but also about the people who live next to us. Generosity does not necessarily mean giving money, it means giving loved ones your love, warmth, attention, and giving your time.
Communication– this is also a kind of art, the lack of which can lead to omissions and misunderstandings. Small conflicts unresolved at the initial stage will lead to larger ones that can no longer be hidden - and you are unlikely to be able to look at the situation calmly. Therefore, it is so important to be able to communicate and talk about your feelings and experiences, to resolve conflicts in a timely manner before they turn into a storm. Many consider this value to be the most important of all. When a person feels like they can talk openly about anything—hopes, dreams, fears, successes, or failures—it strengthens the bond.
Responsibility. Some people have this quality to a greater extent, others to a lesser extent. As children, we were taught that we need to put away toys after playing, or feed pets on time - these little things will help children in adulthood be more careful and responsible. An adult, responsible person comes to work on time without unnecessary reminders or reproaches, meets deadlines and answers phone calls in case of urgent need. If you want to instill a sense of responsibility in your household, provide each member with a list of tasks that they must complete.
Curiosity, a quality that is more characteristic of children. Take a closer look at the child and you will definitely see these qualities in him. It is important to encourage and promote children's desire to learn new things. Ask questions, find out, read what you know little or nothing about. Curiosity will help you gradually develop critical thinking, which will be useful in different situations. And the ability to ask questions and learn about things will also help you strengthen your family ties.
Traditions. Probably one of the most important family values, which can unite different generations of the same family. Don’t complicate things, it could be morning tea or coffee in the morning, a movie on Sunday, trips to nature or cooking lunch together - there are many options, the main thing is that such moments strengthen the unity of the family, giving everyone the opportunity to feel part of it.
And most importantly - Love. There is simply no way without it - this is the basis on which a large foundation is built. Without debate or argument, we give her first place in any list of values, including family values. Thanks to her, we learn to endure, forgive, talk and be honest. By loving children and our significant other, we teach children respect and love for other people.
Family values for a modern family
First of all, it is the family itself and how to preserve it - that is what worries many of us. And marriage itself ceases to become the important unit that it used to be. Nowadays, young people more often live in civil marriages and are in no hurry to put a stamp in their passport, considering it a formality. I believe that there is no point in arguing on this topic, because each of us has the right to our own point of view and our own understanding of family life.
An important change - career, materialism, etc. come first. Every family considers it their duty to get on their feet, realize themselves, and only then have children and build a family. Is this correct? This is probably the topic of another article, but not this one. Just think, what will all this lead to? What's next for you?
It is important that a family is created consciously. Only then will you be able to invest in small miracle such important concepts as love, freedom, faith, conscience and responsibility - this task is impossible outside of family and outside of love. The family develops a sense of patriotism, responsibility, compassion for loved ones, respect, and the ability to communicate with other people.
Conflicts and omissions may arise in the family, but you need to learn to resolve them in time, without inflating small everyday problems to the size of a disaster. Don't forget to show your family members your love, your gratitude through gestures, actions and words. And don't forget to make time for your loved ones.
