Our health is in our hands, or How the Su Jok massager works. Su-jok massager: simple exercises for health and development Su jok massage ball
One of the important elements of treatment in the hand and foot systems (Su Jok) is massage of the zones corresponding to the affected organs and areas of the body. Among the various devices for massage using the Su Jok technique, the most popular are the elastic spring rings, which have many protruding angles on each turn of the spiral, which is convenient for uniform stimulation of the selected area.
Size matters
Spring rings (massage rings) are called elastic because they stretch well. But to get the greatest effect, it is better to choose the right size for the massage ring. When rolling the massager over your fingers, you should feel a pleasant feeling of tight coverage and light compression. The ring should not be too tight or too loose.
Color is also important
Assessing the disease according to the Six Energies, you can choose a Su Jok massage ring of the appropriate color: the green ring is used when there is a lack of Wind energy, red when it is necessary to add Heat, orange is used in case of weakening Heat in the diseased organ, the yellow ring will increase the energy of Humidity, the white ring will bring energy Dry, black - Cold.
How to massage with a ring
The massage technique in Su Jok is simple: a massage ring is put on a finger or toe and rolled either over the entire finger or over part of it until slight hyperemia and a feeling of warmth appear in the massaged area. By moving the fingers of the hand supporting the massage ring around its circumference, you can adjust the degree of pressure and, consequently, the force of influence on different points of the massaged area. At the same time, the most painful Su Jok points are massaged especially carefully.
An elastic ring (Su Jok massage ring) allows you to influence correspondence zones located not only on the fingers, but also on the palms, feet, ears, face and other parts of the body. To do this, a ring placed on the finger of the hand is rolled along the correspondence zone, for example, along the correspondence with the spine on the hand or in the area of the projection of the kidneys in the standard Su Jok correspondence system.
The ring massage procedure does not require much effort, is painless and, most importantly, pleasant.
For what diseases should it be used?
- The elastic Su Jok massage ring allows you to simultaneously perform fast and intense stimulation of multiple Su Jok points located around the circumference of the finger. Therefore, ring massage is indicated for the treatment of diseases of the spine (osteochondrosis, trauma, herniated discs, etc.), large joints and long tubular bones).
- Stimulation with a ring (Su Jok massage ring) causes expansion of the capillary network in the massaged area, and in the corresponding diseased organ - increased blood circulation and nerve conduction and, as a result, improved tissue trophism. This effect explains, in particular, the successful use massage rings for skin lesions, trophic ulcers, osteomyelitis, osteoporosis and non-union fractures.
- In the recovery period after a stroke, the therapeutic effect is achieved by stimulating the area corresponding to the head with an elastic massage ring, and special attention should be paid to the projection of the affected area of the brain. For paresis and paralysis of the limbs, the fingers corresponding to the paralyzed arms and legs are massaged with a ring. This not only helps to improve the function of the limbs, but also affects the condition of the affected part of the brain, since in the large “insect” system the brain is projected onto the fingers...
- Massage of fingers with a massage ring is indicated for vegetative-vascular dystonia, diseases accompanied by coldness of the extremities, a feeling of muscle weakness and pain. It is useful to combine it with massage of the Su Jok areas of the head, heart and spine.
- In cases of varicose veins, lymphostasis, bile stasis and other conditions associated with impaired movement of biological fluids, elastic massage rings are also successfully used: when moving the massage ring in the direction of fluid movement, it is pressed with your fingers, and in the opposite direction the massager is passively rolled without pressure .
- Intensive Su Jok massage with a ring of fingers is indicated for strengthening and increasing the tone of the muscles of the affected limb in case of injuries, paresis, and paralysis.
- Su Jok finger massage with a massage ring can also be considered as general massage the whole body in “insect” systems. It has a beneficial effect on the body as a whole: it enhances metabolic processes in obesity, increases nonspecific resistance to infections, normalizes appetite and sleep, relieves fatigue and stress, improves blood circulation, increases vitality, and restores broken connections.
Thus, massage with a massage ring provides not only mechanical stimulation of painful points in the Su Jok compliance system, but also correction of the energy state. This is an excellent therapeutic and preventive method of Su Jok, which can be used independently or in combination with other types of influence, including for self- and mutual help.

Sujok therapy has been used since ancient times. In the Ancient East, special attention was paid to the hands and feet, since there are many points on them that can affect the work internal organs person. It is believed that the fingers are miniature projections of the entire body; each finger of the limbs corresponds to a certain part of the body. So, the head is connected to the thumb, the hands are connected to the index and little fingers, and the legs are connected to the middle and ring fingers. To treat diseases of internal organs and prevent them, points on the fingers and toes are stimulated using a Su Jok massager.
Types of Su Jok massagers
Metal sujok massagers, made in the form of springs from stainless steel or copper, wire diameter is 0.5 mm.
Sujok massager “Ball and two rings”, which is suitable for:
- massage the surface of the foot and hand - using a ball;
- stimulating active points on the fingers - using rings.
How to use a Su Jok massager?
The Su Jok massager is used as follows.
The massage ring is placed on a specific finger or toe and is moved intensively over the entire finger or part of it. Each finger is massaged until a feeling of warmth arises and slight redness appears. The degree of impact can be adjusted by pressing your finger more or less. The greatest attention should be paid to the most painful points.
The procedure is repeated several times a day. The massager cannot be held on your finger just like that, without moving. Its use is contraindicated in inflammatory or purulent processes and blood diseases.
Stimulation of points on each the finger affects certain organs.
Treatment and prevention of various diseases with the help of a Su Jok massager appeared as a type of therapy quite recently - in the late 80s of the twentieth century. The invention was based on the medical knowledge of Ancient Tibet, which is based on the awakening and use of the body's own resources. IN modern world Su Jok therapy has gained even greater (and deserved!) popularity, the reasons for which are worth learning in more detail.
There are two types of Su Jok massagers - a spiked ball and a finger ring. The ball-shaped device is designed to affect the biologically active areas of the palms and feet (therefore, sometimes they sell a set of two balls: a smaller one for the hands, a larger one for the legs). But the rings, similar to an elastic spring twisted into a rim, work well massage points on the fingers.
The massager was invented in 1987 by the then unknown Korean professor Park Jae-woo, who proposed a new method of treatment and pain relief called “Su-jok”, which translates as “hand-foot”. This name expresses the essence of the invented method, which made it possible to influence the so-called “zones of correspondence” - biologically active points on the feet and hands, which are projections of most internal organs. Physical impact on these areas makes it possible to relieve pain in the affected areas and even treat them.
Su Jok is a variant of acupuncture therapy, however, unlike it, you can use this type of treatment and disease prevention yourself, without the help of specialists. During appropriate exercises, the spikes on the device actively work on absolutely all biologically active points located on the feet and hands. Reflexogenic zones located on the limbs, corresponding to certain organs, allow you to positively influence them during a massage. Su Jok massage is done twice a day for 10–15 minutes.
Among the results that can be expected from Su Jok therapy are the following:
- improved blood circulation;
- increased performance;
- strengthening sleep;
- healing of all internal organs and their systems.
The Su Jok massager cannot be used in the presence of inflammatory diseases, fever, blood diseases, or any processes with the formation of pus.
A set of Su Jok massagers, consisting of large, small balls and a ring, was given to me by a friend who worked at Faberlic. She received the set as a gift, and she decided to make me happy. I don’t have any particularly serious illnesses, but I still wanted to practice with it - all the massagers looked very interesting. I didn’t expect any results, but, to my surprise, after the exercises I felt the fatigue go away and a surge of strength appear.
Areas of application of the Su Jok massager
Traditionally, the Su Jok massager is used in the area of the arms (palms and fingers) and feet. But for the greatest effectiveness of its use, you need to know which organs are projected in the massaged area.
Surfaces of the foot and hand
The main correspondence zones are located on the palms and feet, so by acting on them with a prickly massager, you can achieve excellent results in improving your well-being. A particularly impressive effect can be achieved with:
- atherosclerosis;
- high and low blood pressure;
- sexual impotence;
It is also possible to use the Su Jok ball to prevent diseases of the heart, blood vessels, thyroid gland and nervous system. By the way, even if you are not sick, the massager will help improve blood flow, relieve fatigue and the effects of stress, and increase the overall tone of the body.
Active points on the fingers
Su Jok elastic rings are used to massage fingers. They are usually used if a person suffers from several diseases. During the procedure you should know that:
- the thumb corresponds to the brain;
- the index and little fingers are responsible for the hands;
- the middle and ring ones help heal the legs.
The use of Su Jok massage rings is relevant for:
- diseases of the heart and blood vessels;
- problems with the nervous system;
- diseases of the digestive tract;
- interruptions in the functioning of the musculoskeletal system;
- the need to stimulate the mental and physical development child.
Massage technique using Su Jok
To use the ring, put it on each finger in turn and roll it with force, until the skin turns red. You can also run a finger with a massager on it over active points on the palm.
There is also an option to put the spring on your fingers and remove it 20 times. Particular attention should be paid to areas where the skin is particularly sore. Under no circumstances should such a device be left on the hand after the massage is completed - this can lead to pinching of blood vessels and swelling.
To massage active points on the palms and fingers, a ball-shaped massager;
- pick up and roll in palms clockwise and counterclockwise;
- roll between fingertips;
- thrown and caught;
- squeeze tightly in your hand several times.
To work out the reflexogenic zones on the feet, place the ball on the floor and roll it back and forth with your feet.

Exercises with a Su Jok massager for children's speech development
The eminent teacher V.A. Sukhomlinsky once said a phrase that expresses the subtle connection between fine motor skills and the development of children’s speech: “The child’s mind is at the tips of his fingers.” Indeed, children who are able to perform painstaking tasks with their fingers speak much better than their peers who cannot do this. But, like any skill, fine motor skills require development through frequent training. Such exercises are best performed with the help of a Su Jok massager in the form of a ball with elastic rings.
My godfather's boy at the age of 3 spoke a maximum of 15 words, and very distorted. The poor child was sent to psychologists, neurologists and even taken for an MRI. The only thing they could identify was hypoxia that occurred during childbirth (a friend gave birth to her son for about 24 hours). Despite the prescribed medications, which were supposed to relieve the effects of lack of oxygen, his speech did not improve, although the boy began to sleep better and increased nervousness disappeared. Then one of the speech therapists involved in the treatment advised using a Su Jok ball. Of course, the baby did not become very talkative after this, but after a month of use, his vocabulary began to expand much more actively.
The device can be used by completely healthy children, as well as those with health problems and levels of age and development. The device will help:
- normalize muscle tone, which is very important for cerebral palsy, minor brain dysfunction and various movement disorders;
- make the work of both hemispheres synchronized, activate their relationship;
- improve the functioning of speech centers in the cerebral cortex;
- stimulate development tactile sensitivity and much more.

To implement all these tasks, use the following exercises:
- The ball is placed between the palms, closing the fingers together, and rolling it back and forth.
- In the same position with fingers pressed, the massager is rolled in a circle between the palms.
- The ball is taken with the fingertips and made rotational movements, as if screwing a cork into a bottle;
- In the position indicated in the previous exercise, press the massager 4-6 times with force on the fingertips;
- The device, held in place by the pads, is rotated counterclockwise, as if opening a lid.
- The ball is thrown with both hands 20–30 cm and then caught.
- The fingers are clasped together in a “lock”, having previously held the massager in the palms (elbows are placed to the sides), after which the ball is squeezed 4–6 times.
- The spiked ball is transferred from the left hand to the right, gradually increasing the speed of movements.
All exercises with a Su Jok ball can be carried out while reading funny nursery rhymes, so that the child receives not only benefits, but also pleasure from the exercises.
You know, I was surprised to see in local reviews that these *Su-Jok* massage balls are recommended specifically for children... well, I’ll tell you about my *adult* experience of using it - against swelling, that’s what the ball was bought for, springs - just a nice addition. As always, visual photographs and maximum detailed information are waiting for you!

Now - useful chatter and stuff
This ball was purchased precisely because I have recently been tormented by swelling of the arms and legs; if for the legs I found another means of struggle, which I will write about a little later, then for the arms the most the ideal remedy It turned out to be this particular massage ball with a simple and easy to remember name - *Su-Jok*.
To be honest, I don’t have enough instructions for the actual instructions. paid attention, I just twisted and turned this ball in my hands, this way and that, while reading books at the same time. The main thing for me was to move my arms and fingers as much as possible so that the swelling would resolve... and there is a result.
In the same way, against swelling of the hands - who needs fingers that have suddenly become sausages, especially when you have yet another brand new manicure and were planning a photo shoot in the morning? - I used a spring - I simply *wound* it with rolling movements two or three times on each finger, after which I moved on to the next one.
It should also be said that the edema is renal, and usually appear suddenly, and it doesn’t depend on what I ate (I’ve been living without salt for several years), but it’s just... such a disease, alas.
Therefore, only *man-made* methods of struggle remain in order to remove and drive away swelling from the hands, and now twisting and twirling an ordinary ball with thorns in the hands bears fruit, as well as simple manipulations with springs - after a couple of years - After three hours, the hands return to a more or less normal state.
But - !! - for me personally, alas, it doesn’t last long... then the hated *sausages* appear again. But we can only come to terms with this - life is like this... and it’s impossible to change it for a new one.
Actually, I have the springs separately, because the ball itself opens very tightly and closes into two halves, so I simply gave up on this matter: the balls are separate, the springs are separate, the main thing is to store the latter in a secluded place, away from children’s little hands. I’m keeping a close eye on the ball too, so that neither the child nor the kitty hide it, since it’s a piece of cake for them to *play* so little, there were already precedents, this is already my fourth ball... the rest have disappeared to God knows where.
I use this massage ball in parallel with the Kuznetsov massager-applicator - both of them are THINGS with a capital letter, simple, unpretentious at first glance, but - how much benefit from them - words cannot describe!.. Actually, I talked about the Kuznetsov applicator in as much detail as possible in the corresponding review, there are instructions for there are applications, but here we are talking about our humble ball.
It’s not for nothing that they say - small, but brave! And this is true about our ball - because it more or less perfectly fulfills its task - to cope with annoying swelling, plus - I like to just twirl and twirl it in my hands when I read another book. It's two in one.
Springs... they are good at *normal* times, because when the fingers are swollen, it is very problematic to stick a finger into the spring hole, it just hurts me... and I have no desire to engage in such masochism. Therefore, first the ball, then the springs - this is roughly how *toys* happen with this *Su-Jok* massager.
I am satisfied with the result because the main thing for me is to quickly bring my hands into a more or less presentable form, another question is that I cannot solve this problem once or twice and for good, I know that, and therefore I do not demand the impossible from this massage ball and its springs.
Well fine motor skills and its usefulness, in general, has not been canceled...
About contraindications I can’t say anything - I haven’t noticed anything *that* about me that would make me need to give up this method... but I did a little digging on the Internet and this is what I found:
There are no contraindications to self-medication with stimulants such as the Massage Ball, especially since a person cannot harm himself in this way (c).
Hmm... Such a categorical statement is somehow confusing... because everything is good in moderation... and the saying *Make a fool pray...* was clearly not invented out of nowhere.
Price- 50 rubles, I bought this bag at the pharmacy.
Conclusion- I can’t say for everyone at once: use, use this massage ball and you will have great happiness! - I can only describe my personal experience and talk about the smallest thing - your struggle with edema and nothing more.
I really hope that my review was at least a little useful to you!
Hi all!
My review today will be dedicated to two wonderful massage rings su-jok.
Once, while visiting my grandmother, I saw this thing: a small spring made of wire, folded in the shape of a ring. I asked what kind of thing this was, and my grandmother replied that it was a finger massager: it perfectly helps to disperse stagnant blood and stretch arthritic fingers. After trying it, I decided that I also needed such a massager: unfortunately, I have a hereditary predisposition to joint diseases, By the age of 29, I already have the initial stages of deformation and feel fatigue from overexertion in my hands. Based on the x-ray, the following diagnosis was made:
Osteoarthritis 1 tbsp. interphalangeal joints of both hands.
Having gone to several city pharmacies, I was surprised to find that pharmacists had never heard of such miracle rings. Even strange. But we have a great one AliExpress, where, in fact, I ordered 5 rings for 54.36 rubles ( price as of March 2018). Direct link to the product - . Besides massage rings for fingers, sold on AliExpress massage bracelet for the whole hand, whose price was 104 rubles. Of course, I also added it to the cart - link to the product.
The purchase amount is small, which means that the parcels will take a long time to travel, through Vanuatu, Mongolia and somewhere else, and will not be tracked. But I wasn’t *WAITING* for long, just in a month and a half, a few days apart, I received my massage rings.
What are massagers? su-jok? In essence, this is an ordinary wire, twisted in a certain way, with the help of which it is created massage effect.
In general, the scope of su-jok is much wider and is not limited only to the treatment and prevention of arthritis.
Su-jok is relatively young - it was developed about a quarter of a century ago South Korean professor Park Jae-woo. However, it is based on the extensive traditions of ancient Tibetan medical knowledge. With its help, you can increase the body's resistance to stress and launch self-healing processes in it.
Translated from Korean, “su-jok” means “hand and foot.” Why is this strange name did the Korean doctor choose for his method? The fact is that these parts of the body represent extensive reflex zones. The nerve endings concentrated here are connected by nerve fibers to all human organs. On the hand and foot you can find a point corresponding to any part of the human body, all its organs.
That is, in Eastern medicine for centuries the treatment of various diseases by influencing points located on the feet and hands. Yes, I know about the wonderful points of influence in the body, but it seems to me that this science requires deep and detailed study, and in the future I want to master it. But for now I use the rings only to prevent diseases of the joints of my hands.
APPLICATION.
For working day I try to exercise and warm up my fingers. I usually do several exercises from this complex:
- Clenching of fists. This is a simple movement, and as a rule, experts usually advise starting your exercises with it.
- Touch. The tip of the thumb must touch all fingers in turn.
- We place our hands with our palms on a hard surface, making spreading and connecting movements of our fingers. It is advisable to perform this exercise with some effort.
- We distribute our palms on the surface of a cabinet or table, alternately moving each finger up and down.
- Rotational movements. Make circular movements with your fingers.
- Flexion and extension of the nails and middle phalanges of the fingers on any hard surface.
I don’t do the exercises all at once, but selectively, to warm up. Then, when my fingers are warmed up, I start doing self-massage. small su-jok ring: take the ring and roll each finger several times in turn back and forth.
For better sliding of the ring, your hands can be lubricated with cream or oil, but it is quite possible to carry out the procedure on dry hands. After finishing working with the ring, I move my opposite hand from the fingertips to the palm several times, that is, I make sure that the last massage movement is directed along the lymphatic flow - from the fingertips upwards. After the procedure, a pleasant aftertaste remains for some time, somewhat similar to the effect of goosebumps antistress. I don’t know how many times a day I carry out the procedure, but I noticed that in any free minute when I don’t have to type, I start warming up my fingers and reach for the ring.
Su-jok bracelet ring is at home. I work with him in the evenings. Before going to bed, after I take a shower, go to bed and smear my hands with cream or oil (lately I have been using pure shea butter), I take big ring and start rolling it from my fingertips to my shoulder.
You can also take this ring and squeeze it in your palm several times.
After completing the procedure, I move the opposite hand several times from the fingertips upward along the movement of the lymph. The whole procedure takes about 5 minutes, no more, but the effect is simply amazing! My dry, eczema-affected hands are softened by this massage, which helps absorb the oil better. In the photo below I tried to capture the process. (Eczema is visible on my little finger, sorry if anyone is uncomfortable, but my hands are never completely clean).
In general, the su-jok is an inexpensive but very effective massager:
- After the procedure, pleasant sensations remain in the entire hand: the nerve endings are affected.
- Helps stretch your fingers, which helps prevent arthritis.
- Improves the absorption of creams and oils, which leads to softening of very dry skin.
I recommend everyone to get these rings. It’s better to order several pieces at once, like I did: the goods take a long time, and the ring can break at any moment. Of the 5 small rings I ordered, I currently have three “alive”: one broke in the first week of use, the second - a month later. The bracelet looks durable, but I don’t see any reason for it to break.
Healthy, beautiful and well-groomed hands to everyone.
P.S. I don’t do foot massage with su-jok rings; for this purpose I have a “spiky” massage ball.
My other reviews of products from AliExpress:
- Heagami Hairpin helps you create the perfect bun every day.
- Tablet box, a very convenient and inexpensive container for medications.
