Post-infectious and post-shock nervous hair loss. Indians never cut their hair
Treatment. Antibiotics are used from specific agents: either terramycin, chloramphenicol. Levomycetin is prescribed 0.5 g 4 times a day, tetracycline 0.3 g 4 times a day until the temperature decreases and one or two days when normal temperature, reducing the medication to 3 times a day. In order to increase, cordiamine is prescribed 2 ml 2-3 times under the skin; depending on the severity of the disease - caffeine-sodium benzoate in the morning and afternoon, 1 ml of a 20% solution 2 times under the skin, 5% hydrochloride solution, 0.6-1 ml 2-3 times a day under the skin or orally, 0.025 -0.05 g 2-3 times. In cases of collapse, ephedrine hydrochloride is administered intravenously (slowly), corglycone or with glucose (40% solution), mezaton (1% solution) 1 ml subcutaneously or intramuscularly; sedatives are also prescribed nervous system- bromides (sodium bromide 6 g per 200 ml, 1 tablespoon 3-4 times a day), carbromal (adaline) 0.3 g or (Nembutal) 0.1 g, 1 powder per night. For severe headaches, apply cold to the head. In case of severe intoxication, a 5% glucose solution or an isotonic sodium chloride solution is infused intravenously.
Patients should receive nutritious food; The diet includes easily digestible, vitamin-enriched nutritious dishes (table No. 13); It is recommended to feed 4-5 times a day in small portions. Discharged from the hospital after clinical recovery, but not earlier than on the 12-14th day of normal temperature.
Prevention. Since the only source of infection in typhus is a sick person, the main control measure is early detection(timely diagnosis) of the disease and early hospitalization (isolation) of the patient. Provided that the sick person is hospitalized early (no later than 3-4 days from the onset of the disease), there are no new cases of disease in the same outbreak if the specified conditions are met.
All persons surrounding the sick person are subject to complete sanitization; Disinsection of the premises where the patient lived, clothing and bedding is carried out.
Epidemiological surveillance is established in the locality for 71 days (25 of them with daily thermometry, and then weekly home visits are carried out to those in contact and they are interviewed). Persons who have an elevated temperature are hospitalized in the provisional department of the infectious diseases hospital. If repeated cases of typhus and the presence of lice appear among the population, a complete door-to-door survey is carried out (see).
For specific prevention of typhus, the live combined typhus vaccine ZHKSV-E is used. The vaccine is administered once subcutaneously at a dose of 0.25 ml, then after 2 years at the same dose and then annually at the same dose. Persons aged 16 to 60 years are vaccinated.
A patient admitted to the hospital with typhus or suspected typhus undergoes sanitary treatment. The hair on the head is cut with a clipper, the hair on the pubic area and under the arms is shaved. If lice are present, the hairy areas of the body are generously moistened with soap and kerosene (30 parts of green or laundry soap are dissolved in 25 parts of hot water; then mixed with 45 parts of kerosene). After this, the head is tied with a scarf. After 20-30 minutes. the patient is washed in a warm soapy bath. In the absence of liquid insecticides, the hairy parts of the body are pollinated with pyrethrum or 5-10% DDT dust. After 30 minutes the patient is washed.
The patient’s belongings (clothes, underwear, shoes) are packed in special bags and sent for disinfection.
According to mythological ideas, it is hair that serves as the road through which the human soul communicates with the beyond world. When a person falls asleep or dies, the soul leaves the body through the hair and travels, communicating with the souls of other people.
If the hair is cut off, then the cut strand still has a connection with its owner. Due to the fact that hair has direct access to the human soul, it absorbs information about the person himself more than any other organ. Even if the hair falls out, it continues to store an information and energy reserve of data about who it belonged to.
Therefore, influencing hair is the same as influencing the person himself. That's why in the past when close person When he left, a lock of his hair was cut off in order to maintain a spiritual connection with him and help with prayers.
Hair cutting is essentially a spiritual rite. If you want to break with your sinful past, get rid of the burden of past years, and also as a sign of grief for the dead, you need to cut your hair (and, according to the Bible, sprinkle ashes on your head) - just as they do when taking monastic vows. With new hair you will get new energy and new hope.
NEST OF Evil Spirits
Ulyanovsk resident Lyudmila Georgievna, who until recently worked in one of the city’s beauty salons, told a rather interesting story. One day a girl came to her with an absurd request - to shave her head!
“At first I decided that the poor guy had picked up lice,” says Lyudmila Georgievna. – I asked her directly, and she burst into tears. There are no lice, he says, only something bad is happening. At night, one strand will definitely become tangled to death, so much so that you can’t comb it.”
According to Lyudmila Georgievna, she knew about a hair disease when loops form on it. But what the professional hairdresser saw on
the girl's head, she was simply shocked!
Half of the hair on the top of her head was cut off almost to the root - in this way the client was obviously trying to get rid of tangles. And on top of the ridiculous undercoat, clumsily disguised by the comb, lay... a snake! No, of course, it was actually hair, but the outline of the curl that formed was exactly like a cobra with a swollen hood.
“As soon as I touched this hairy snake, I felt bad,” the hairdresser recalls. – Not in the sense that it’s disgusting, but as if I’ve become weak all at once! The girl is crying, I mutter to her that this trouble is being treated. I heard from friends that I need to take some medications, anoint my hair with burdock oil, and do electric massages. But I decided to myself: I won’t shave. Apparently, evil spirits really have built a nest in her hair... They say that
When a brownie falls in love with a girl, he begins to braid her hair at night.”
In short, Lyudmila Georgievna refused to shave her client’s head. The guy worked on their shift. Young, just out of college. He volunteered to help the girl.
I did it in no time, without even blinking an eye. Either he really didn’t feel anything, or he didn’t want to show it to the women.
And a week later he died! Then, a month later, the cleaning lady was admitted to the hospital. It turned out that she was treating her radiculitis with hair. Picked up
she cut her hair and made a healing belt out of it. Apparently, she picked up that girl’s hair too...
BURY THE DISEASE IN THE GROUND
Witches often use hair in their spells. It is not for nothing that some ancient peoples even had a custom of cutting their hair during war before releasing prisoners. If those released subsequently caused harm to their conquerors, they could be punished at any distance.
To avoid black magic, people followed various rituals: even today, some people cut their hair and stuff it into cracks in the walls, while others
they hide them in churches, hollows of trees and hollows of pillars. Then they will not fall into the hands of sorcerers, for whom a small strand is enough to spell damage to a person.
In the past, hair was used to charm whooping cough from several children in a family at once: hair from the head of the eldest child was finely chopped, put in milk and given to the rest to drink.
Other diseases could be cured by burying the patient's hair in the ground, sticking it into a cut in the bark of a rowan tree, or putting it in a sandwich and giving it to a dog to eat.
The disease thus spreads to an animal or tree or rots in the ground. In some countries, they transferred any illness to another in a similar way: they took hair from the top of the head, an eyelash and nail clippings and sewed everything together with a coin into a cloth bag, which they then threw on the road
or to a place where it could be more easily noticed and picked up - and with it the disease.
WILL A MAN WITH A HAIRLESS CHEST BECOME A THIEF?!
Some signs associated with hair have been almost forgotten over time, others continue to exist today. One of the oldest superstitions,
surviving to this day, it is said that a hairy chest is a sign of strength and that a man with a hairy chest is the favorite of good luck. A thick beard has exactly the same meaning. Even more fortunate are those men who have thick hair on their arms, both on the outside and on the inside. back side. Such men are simply doomed to become rich. The hair on the head indicates how many years a particular man has: if the hair covers the forehead and temples, the man will live to old age. Good omen- cowlick. As for women, they can attract good luck by cutting their hair only during the waxing moon. Otherwise, the hair will begin to fall out and lose its shine.
It is believed that birds build nests from fallen women's hair, so you can’t throw them out into the street, otherwise you risk getting a headache.
A woman whose hair grows low will become a widow, for this is the notorious “widow's wedge.” And a woman whose hair has suddenly formed two curls, although her hair was straight before, should watch her husband, because this is a sign that he will not live long.
Although hairy people are almost universally considered lucky, in India it is believed that a woman with thick body hair is unfaithful to her husband. Indians also believe that a man with a hairless chest is a thief or will become a thief. They say that loose strands indicate a wicked person, while curls grow on a cheerful and good-natured person.
You should not cut your own hair - luck will not turn away from you, but anyone you meet after such a haircut will definitely suffer.
There is also such a curious sign: if your hair is not burned in the fire, it means you will drown. And if your hair burns brightly, you are destined for a long life.
Suddenly losing hair on your head means health problems and financial troubles. If someone else's hair ends up on your shoulder, expect an important letter, and if you drop your comb while combing your hair, you will be disappointed.
The custom of saving a lock of a baby's first hair for good luck still exists. At the same time, it is believed that a child’s hair should not be cut until one year of age.
no matter what.
You cannot cut your hair on Good Friday, or on any Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday, otherwise you will never get rich. Thus, you can safely do this only on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
If the hair is cut off, then the cut strand still has a connection with its owner. After the haircut is finished, the cut hair must be burned, and then
in any case, under no circumstances should they be left where sorcerers or birds could take possession of them. If, for example, a magpie steals his hair, the owner will die no later than in a year and one day.
It is best to throw hair into water, such as a toilet. Water is so information-capacious that it can discharge any “charged” with thin
energy object.
I shaved my head.
I've had the idea of shaving my head since childhood. But it was a shame. I associated bald people with either illness or aggressive behavior. In short, this is how I walked around with my hair.
But then I decided, why not?
I will list the pros and cons of a bald head.
Convenience #1: Haircut
The haircut ended surprisingly quickly. They treated me with a machine to a minimum, and then offered to bring my head to a shine with a razor. I gave up the razor. Total, just a few minutes and you're done.
Saving time, saving money.
The local hairdresser (I'm in Thailand now) asked me ten times, like, are you really naked? She was afraid that the stupid tourist had mixed up the words and would then throw a scandal at her. :))
Convenience #2: Not hot
I can compare. The first days I walked around Phuket with hair. And now I go without. It feels like the temperature has dropped a couple of degrees. It became much easier. My head no longer boils in the middle of the day.
Maybe a placebo? Don't know.
Convenience #3: Washing has become easier
Now I wash my hair with regular soap and don’t worry. The “process” itself takes a couple of seconds.
Convenience #4: Improved scalp health
The first thing I noticed when I ran over my bald head was the amount of dead skin that had accumulated on its surface. I could literally scrape it off in clumps. Now my head is even and smooth - no dead skin.
Of course, I’m not a doctor, but it seems to me that it was useful to remove excess “bullshit” from myself. I will be glad if the doctors correct me in the comments.
Possible disadvantage No. 1: Attitude of others
I shaved smartly. He sneaked away from his wife and child while they were looking at clothes in the store, and quickly shaved in a nearby salon. When I left, they came to meet me. They walked and walked and passed by. I had to call out. Turning around, the wife’s face changed, her eyes widened.))
She said that I now look like a bandit, that those around me will avoid me.
Is this true or not? Bald people, write in the comments!
I personally think that this is all nonsense.
Possible disadvantage No. 2: Problems with documents
The inspectors already looked at my passport with distrust - I was photographed there when I weighed 30 kg more. Now, I feel, their doubts will intensify - instead of a thick hairy guy, a bald, suffocating guy will look at them.
Will they recognize you at the border after shaving your head? Write!

The joint brainstorming of the LH editorial staff revealed a number of other important points:
- In battle, they will not be able to grab you by the hair; if you are cut, the hair is not in the wound (Bald Man from Kyiv).
- But if you drown, no one will grab you by the hair either (see life safety). :)))
- Even gopniks (with the appropriate build) are scared in the minibus.
- Hairstyle, dry/brittle/oily hair? Lolshto?
- The myth of unattractive men without hair is broken by Bruce Willis and Jason Statham. In the end, it’s brutal and courageous.
- Hydrodynamics in the pool, aerodynamics on the bike... Woohoo!
- No one puts chewing gum in their hair at school.
- In clear weather you can blind enemy reconnaissance aircraft :))
And finally, one more photo:

Write in the comments
Are you hairy? Write why you won't shave your head. What's stopping you?
Are you bald? Write about your feelings. How did your loved ones react? How do new acquaintances react?
Well, so that girls don’t get bored: do you find bald men attractive or vice versa?
Does regular cutting of children's hair to a zero really improve hair growth on the head and make the hair more voluminous? Alas, this is just a myth - in fact, the manipulations of hairdressers do not at all affect the frequency and speed of renewal of hair follicles, or even the increase in their number. However, this misconception is still very popular.
This myth is not that many years old - it was formed only at the beginning of the last century. However, for almost a hundred years, many adults have regularly abused their children by cutting their heads in the hope that this will make the hair on the child's head thicker. Girls especially get it - after all, they thick hair necessary to win hearts in the future strong half humanity. However, there are also those who, in order to increase hair growth, constantly cut their hair to “zero” both in adulthood and even in old age. In a word, all ages are submissive to this myth!
Like most other pseudo-scientific misconceptions, the hypothesis that regular “zero” haircuts make hair thicker has an explanation that at first glance seems quite scientific. Firstly, proponents of such radical measures argue, cutting your hair bald removes a large layer of dead skin, which prevents hair from breaking through to the surface. Secondly, such a haircut stimulates increased blood circulation in the vessels of the scalp, and this, in turn, causes the intensive appearance of new hair follicles - that is, follicles.
Needless to say, it sounds convincing, but in reality nothing like this ever happens. Let's start with the fact that follicles - the skin structures that produce hair - do not react at all to increased blood circulation or to any other external influences. Their number per skin surface area is determined by the genes of each individual person, and no matter what you rub your head with, it will not make them larger (less, however, either). Only in old age their number can greatly decrease - but this process is also triggered by genes. Therefore, no matter how much older people shave their heads, it will still not save them from baldness.
Each follicle has its own cycle, starting with a stage called anagen - when hair begins to grow. Anagen is initiated by chemical signals from skin cells that stimulate the formation of a new hair follicle, support its downward growth to a certain depth, form a new hair follicle and grow new hair. By the way, studies by physiologists have proven that hair length depends on the duration of the growth period, while the circumference depends on the size of the bulb - and this duration is also determined genetically.
Anagen is followed by catagen, a short period during which the bulb degrades. Well, then comes telogen - the stage during which hair is not produced. At this time, the hair whose follicle has atrophied falls out, and the newly formed bulbs to replace the degraded ones are still inactive. When telogen ends, the growth stage begins again, that is, anagen.
The speed and time of this cycle is regulated exclusively by genes and is normally not subject to any external influences. No, of course, it can be disrupted if the body is exposed to radiation or toxic effects, as a result of which skin cells stop functioning normally. Then fewer new follicles will be formed. The same can happen with a serious metabolic disorder - for example, with vitamin deficiency, the consequences of poisoning the body with toxic substances or hormonal imbalances. All this can lead to significantly less hair on a person’s head.
But so far it has not been possible to achieve the opposite effect - even with operations called “gender reassignment,” the number of follicles on the head does not increase, and their reproduction cycle does not accelerate. That is why all the so-called “remedies for baldness” never give the desired effect - they can only sharply stimulate the cycle of hair follicles at the initial stage, but then it returns to normal again. It is quite obvious that regular haircuts to “zero” cannot in any way affect the course of this natural process.
Interestingly, this has long been proven experimentally - at the end of the last century, experiments were carried out on twins, one of whom was regularly shaved bald. So, despite this, the number of hair follicles per square centimeter of scalp in both participants in the experiment always remained the same. And so does the speed of the follicle cycle. Thus, the myth that a zero haircut improves hair growth has been finally refuted.
Almost everyone knows that after typhoid, typhus, relapsing fever, scarlet fever, diphtheria and other acute infectious diseases, hair loss occurs. It usually begins 1 1/2 -2 1/2 months after the onset of acute infectious disease. Over the course of about 2 weeks, the loss increases, then continues without change for 2 weeks, after which it decreases and returns to normal. Hair loss usually occurs from the entire scalp and leads to thinning of the hair on the head, sometimes significantly.
Hair often falls out not only on the head, but also on other parts of the body.
Hair thinning and baldness after infectious diseases are almost always temporary; the lost hair grows back and the hairline becomes normal.
Hair loss ranges from a slight, almost imperceptible increase in physiological loss during normal hair change to sudden loss in whole clumps.
Since such loss occurs after acute infectious diseases that occur with an increase in body temperature, fever, it is called post-infectious or post-fever. The extent of hair loss is by no means proportional to either the severity of the disease or the height or duration of the fever. It is common to observe significant hair loss after a mild infection that was almost feverless, and insignificant hair loss after a long and severe illness. An infectious disease, of course, is the cause of hair loss, but the role of the patient’s body condition is very large and largely determines the extent of hair loss.
The same temporary hair loss can occur not only after acute infectious diseases, but also after childbirth, severe trauma, surgical shock, severe mental experience, nervous shock, epileptic seizure, etc., that is, after any nervous shock. That's why this type of hair loss is called post-shock nervous loss. The timing of appearance, course, duration, and results of hair loss from these causes are the same as for post-infectious ones. You just need to keep in mind that these periods can vary widely in different patients. And in these cases, mostly hair thinning occurs, not baldness.
Only sometimes in patients, hair loss after an infectious disease or nervous shock does not lead to hair thinning, but to baldness. Almost always in such patients the hairline is restored; Only extremely rarely, in literally a few patients, baldness is permanent.
The cause of post-infectious hair loss is intoxication (poisoning) of the body with microbial toxins, i.e., poisonous products of their vital activity. This affects the central nervous system, resulting in various general and local changes in the body that cause hair loss.
Nervous shock also affects the central nervous system, which results in the same hair loss.
It is possible to make a correct diagnosis, i.e. correctly identify the disease, in case of post-infectious and post-shock nervous hair loss only if it is possible to establish an acute infectious disease, traumatic or surgical shock, nervous shock, etc., which preceded the onset of hair loss. Put it correct diagnosis absolutely necessary, since without it proper treatment is impossible.
Hair loss, which only leads to thinning, is mostly benign in nature: the hair grows back. For the most part, they also grow back in patients whose hair loss has reached the level of baldness. The consequences are worse when hair falls out in large quantities and when all or most of the hair falls out. However, even in such patients with severe baldness, the possibility of hair regrowth cannot be excluded.
In case of temporary hair loss, you can use products that strengthen and improve the general condition of the body (arsenic, iron, vitamins, enhanced nutrition, etc.) to speed up their regrowth. Hormonal drugs, i.e. drugs from the endocrine glands, are also recommended. For persistent baldness, in addition, external treatment is used that can promote hair growth (ultraviolet irradiation, darsonval, massage, irritants, etc.).
Only a doctor can decide which means should be used after a thorough comprehensive examination of the patient.
Until recently, it was considered possible to prevent such baldness by shaving the head at the onset of the disease. It can now be considered established that this in no way prevents hair loss, but only makes it invisible. Therefore, shaving the head during an acute infectious disease is unnecessary.
