In addition, twine is appropriate not only on its own, but also in combination with other decorative elements. Together, they endow any craft with features of originality. Let's try to understand some of the intricacies of this curious needlework.
Twine bow and vase
The material is a packaging thread made from jute. Below you will find several master classes on crafts made from twine. They will be useful primarily for beginners.
The first product is a bow, which is simple in execution and will allow you to practice well. The materials we will need are: twine, glass jar small volume, scissors and silicone-based glue.
The manufacturing process consists of the following simple steps. First, the twine is wound around the can in tight and neat turns. The width of the future bow depends on the number of turns. After winding, the thread is cut.
The main thing is to make sure that it does not bloom. After this, the workpiece is generously covered with glue. When it is completely dry, the glued twine is pulled off the can and compressed strictly in the center. The result is a beautiful bow.
At the final stage, the bend must be carefully wrapped with thread, its tip hidden on the back side and the resulting knot glued.
Original ideas and instructions for twine crafts can be found in specialized literature on needlework or on the Internet.
Now let’s try to understand the nuances of making another interesting thing - a vase. To do this you will need: a small jar (for example, 0.7 liter capacity), twine, scissors and glue. The jar is covered with glue, after which a jute thread is tightly wound around it, starting from the bottom and moving up.
Upon completion, the twine is cut and the future vase is left to dry. If desired, the finished creation is decorated with beads, rhinestones, flowers, etc.
Making a basket
How to make a twine basket with your own hands, so that the end result is beautiful and useful thing? Let's look at the entire sequence of steps.
Materials needed: a plastic container of the required size (a five-liter bottle with the top cut off will do), twine, scissors, a crochet hook and glue. On the cut of the plastic bottle, maintaining the same distance, small slits are made that will prevent the thread from sliding to the sides.
Next, vertical winding is carried out. The cut ends are fixed with glue. After that, horizontal winding is carried out from below with threading (by hand or with a crochet hook) between each turn of vertical winding.
It is not completed to the very end, leaving a reserve for the design of the top. The bottom of the basket is fixed with glue directly onto the threads that weave around the bottom of the future product. It itself is a circular winding.
The top is decorated by twisting two adjacent vertical turns. The final stage involves attaching the entire craft with glue.
Once dry, the plastic bottle is removed and the basket is complete. It can be used as a flowerpot, a box for useful items or a container for fruit.
Crafts made from coffee and twine
There are a lot of simple twine craft ideas for beginners, some of which involve the use of coffee beans. Let's look at how you can get decorative acorns. Useful for this plastic containers from kinders, twine, coffee beans, a piece of burlap, floral wire, glue and scissors.
Glue one end of the wire to the side of the container, the other should go to its top and rise freely. Next, the workpiece is tightly braided with thread, which is fixed with glue. The movement is from below.
Free ends of the twine are left on half of the workpieces; in the future, it will disguise the wire connection. The procedure is repeated similarly with all existing containers. The coffee beans will imitate the cap of an acorn. They are glued one by one in the appropriate place, trying to overlap with the previous grain.
The leaves are made from a piece of burlap, which is cut accordingly. Circuit oak leaf glued with twine, the veins are also made from it. A piece of wire is placed in the center of the sheet and masked. All ends are twisted together and hidden under additional decorative winding.

Jute filigree involves creating light and elegant crafts from twine or thick thread
Working with natural thread is so pleasant that it immediately attracts young and beginning needlewomen. Simple tricks and a simple algorithm of actions allow you to quickly master this magnificent ancient technique.
Before starting the creative process, you need to stock up on simple and accessible materials:
- twine or any thick thread;
- transparent glue “Moment” or “Titanium”;
- PVA glue for processing;
- scissors;
- tweezers;
- acrylic paints or acrylic varnish.
Stencils serve as the basis for filigree work. You can draw them using your own imagination or print them from the Internet. The sketch should be drawn with clear black lines on white A4 paper and placed in a transparent file.
The oilcloth will serve as the base on which all the parts will be glued. After processing and drying openwork craft easily separates from the oilcloth base.
To make a simple napkin made of jute, you need to draw two templates: a circle with a diameter of 5-6 cm and the outlines of the future craft.
The work begins with twisting the snail. A small loop is created and new circles are wrapped around it. A small amount of glue is squeezed onto the template, and the folded circle is placed on the file.
Important! To complete the work, the jute thread is always cut diagonally with scissors.
The tip is carefully glued and merges with the overall workpiece.
The next step is making the openwork base. Glue is applied along all the contours of the template and threads of the required length are placed. It is convenient to work with narrow tweezers or fingers. To keep your hands always clean, it is advisable to use wet wipes!
When all the threads along the external and internal contours are glued, you can proceed to the production of fastening “snails”.
These small circles of threads folded in a circle will connect the openwork details of the napkin. The finished craft should be thoroughly coated with a solution of PVA glue and water (1 to 1).
After the blanks have completely dried, they need to be separated from the file and glued together.
If desired, the needlewoman can paint the napkin with acrylic paints. Gold or silver colors are ideal.
Patterns for making openwork napkins and there are a great many cup holders. The main thing is to approach creative process with soul and irrepressible imagination.

Jute filigree made from twine: master class and miracle craft lessons from masters on making an openwork vase
The art of jute filigree attracts not only young needlewomen, but also young guys with a creative streak. A master class on making an elegant dish from twine is presented by a novice master from the Belgorod region, Vladislav Trush.
To work, he uses a glass base vase and cling film, onto which he will apply elegant openwork patterns.
The base dish is covered with a transparent film, generously smeared with glue in the center, and the placement of the thread begins with a traditional snail. For convenience, the master holds the workpiece with sharp scissors and uses them to cut off the oblique ends.
The next step is to form “droplets” around the central circle. The master cuts 10-12 threads of the same length from the ball and places neat petals on the glue.
In the same way, the inner droplets are laid out in a circle, and the pattern turns out to be more saturated and rich.
To secure the structure along the entire circumference of the workpiece, 3-4 rows of jute thread are placed on glue.
The next stage of work is the formation of the second circle of petals. The master decided that they would have an inclined, broken shape and consist of 3 decreasing droplets.
In the empty spaces between the curls, the young craftsman places small snails that will serve a fastening and decorative function.
The master carefully coats the finished work with PVA glue diluted in water. Let it dry completely, carefully remove cling film and excess glue, and then decorate it with golden acrylic paint.

Skillful home needlewomen are real dreamers and inventors. From ordinary twine they can make beautiful talismans for good luck and happiness.
A simple example is the Firebird's feather. To create it you will need a small roll of twine, some clear glue and a couple of beautiful pebbles.
First, as always, you need to make a sketch and place it in a transparent file. Apply glue in a thin stream along the contour of the design and carefully lay the jute thread, cutting off the oblique ends.
To place a glass pebble in the center of the feather, you need to make a base for it - a round snail from working thread.
It is advisable to additionally lubricate the ends of the natural thread with glue, then they will not fray and will be neatly hidden in the work.
Those curves in the picture that will be decorated with rhinestones need to be reinforced with 2-3 strips of jute.
The finished work must be thoroughly coated with diluted PVA glue and set aside for 1-2 hours.
Note! When the craft is completely dry, it must be separated from the base, remove excess glue with a hot soldering iron, a heated screwdriver, or simply cut with scissors.

Tell me, how can I remove glue residue from the product?
You can make an original painting with your own hands literally from scrap materials.
We need: paper string, corrugated cardboard (can be from a box), frame, ruler, PVA glue, spray paint in silver, gold or any other color and scissors. In the second version of the picture you will additionally need beads.
We unwind the twine and smooth it with the edge of a ruler or just a fingernail. This is a rather labor-intensive task, so if you have assistants at this stage, this will greatly facilitate your work and reduce the time it takes to complete the painting. Do not untwist long pieces of twine, this will make the work difficult.
We measure pieces of untwisted twine to the size of the cardboard, which in turn is cut to the size of the frame. To create a braided background, glue the string in strips onto the back side of the cardboard. Try to glue the strips of twine tightly to each other, as shown in the photo.
After the strips of twine have dried and “sit” firmly on the base, we turn it over and begin to weave the background of the picture. We immediately glue the strips of the horizontal row with tension. We glue the vertical strips at the end of the weaving after the entire background has been intertwined.
We insert the wicker background-base into the frame.
Now you can start decorating the picture. The first option uses 17 flowers, and the second – 21. Each flower consists of 5 stamens. 4 of them are equal in size, and the central one is longer because it goes into the stem. The length of the stamens is approximately 6 cm. Simply tie a knot at the end of the stamens. (This is for the first option).
In the second option, after tying the knot, we also thread a bead. The size of the stamens is maintained.
We put all the stamens of one branch together and connect them with PVA glue with a piece of unrolled twine.
We make petals from the same untwisted twine. Each flower has 6 petals. Petals are 6-7 cm in size.
Glue the petals to the stamens. The gluing area must be covered with a piece of twine.
We paint the flowers completely with spray paint. You can use both painted and unpainted flowers in the composition at the same time.
We give a rounding to each flower petal. Use a pencil or pen for this.
We begin to assemble the picture. In addition to the made flowers, you will also need leaves, which are also cut from untwisted twine. Flowers and leaves are fixed between strips of braided base. If desired, you can secure them with glue.
So, without much effort and expense, you have an original painting.
Get inspired by an idea and create. Good luck!!!
There are a lot interesting materials, from which you can make beautiful and unusual things with your own hands. One of them is jute cord or twine. If you are into handicrafts, but have never worked with this material before, be sure to try it and see how easy and quick it is to create original crafts from a rope.
We create masterpieces from nothing
Even such a rough and inconspicuous material as jute twine can be transformed into beautiful masterpieces in skillful hands. IN various master classes It clearly demonstrates how to create all kinds of twine crafts using twine or jute.
If you didn’t know, twine is a cord that is made from natural fibers. It is distinguished by its strength, tensile strength and wear resistance, and can be single-stranded or multi-stranded. There is also paper twine. If desired, jute can even be dyed or bleached (per liter of water about 150-200 ml of whiteness for twine wound into a ball, 3-4 m long).
Choosing an idea for work
The variety of master classes shows that DIY twine crafts can be anything you want. Since this material is very cheap, it is suitable for creating any small things useful in the household: interior toys and figurines, baskets, vases, Christmas tree decorations, magnets, souvenirs - either for yourself or as gifts for friends and family.
For example, you can start by making holiday decorations. If soon New Year, pay attention to master classes on creating elegant decorative Christmas trees and other winter themed decorations.
- The Christmas tree can be airy (without a base inside) or regular. For a regular tree, prepare the base.
- To do this, draw a semicircle on cardboard, divide it in half and cut out the parts. Glue them into a cone.
- Then cut out a circle in the same way and make a hole in the center of it.
- Insert a thick wire or stick into this hole, secure it and wrap it tightly with twine. Cover the paper base with twine as well.
- Then secure the cone and continue designing.
- You can place the tree not just on a base, but in a pot of plaster, like a topiary.
- Decorate your Christmas tree with coffee beans, beads and ribbons.
To make the Christmas tree airy and filigree, you need to lay out the pattern from the cord according to the shape on the glue (you can use a conical object or a plastic cup, just wrap it around cling film). When everything is dry, cut the mold and pull it out, and you will be left with a voluminous airy figure that can be easily decorated as you wish.
By using plastic bottles You can use the same principle to make beautiful Christmas bells as a mold.
If they are getting close Easter holidays, then you will find useful master classes on making Easter baskets, angels, decorative nests or egg stands, as well as decorating the holiday eggs themselves.
- You will need a base for the basket. The frame can also be made of paper. You can form the basket itself either using a cord or using wire.
- Attach the twine with hot glue, and start the winding from the middle. It is most convenient to work with a heat gun.
- Even if you didn’t use wire to form the basket, you will definitely need it to make a handle.
- Wrap jute around the handle. You can decorate it with weaves, rope braids or other patterns. Decorate your basket too.
- Separately, you can make flowers from twine of a different color, add pieces of burlap, large wooden buttons, coffee beans or beads to the decor.
A decorative nest for decorating the interior for Easter or even just for any spring holiday, like March 8 or the first day of spring, can be easily made using the principle of creating balls of thread. To do this, simply wrap balloon with twine dipped in glue (or coat it with glue later), dry the product, then pierce it and remove the ball.
Then cut a hole and decorate it with twine weave. Hang your nest on a ribbon and decorate it with artificial flowers, feathers, and then place birds or butterflies in this airy house.
Many craft workshops show how to make useful crafts from twine for the kitchen and home. These can be vases or flowerpots, various talismans for good luck or wealth, such as a mill, brownie, money tree or horseshoe topiary, and even curtain tiebacks.
- To make a vase, the easiest way is to use your old and no longer fashionable vase and simply decorate it. Cover the entire container with twine, and then twist various curls and flowers from the rope and attach to the vase. You can supplement the composition with coffee beans.
- Curtain tiebacks are easily made from old and unwanted CDs. Carefully cut a circle in a spiral in the center of the disk so that you are left with a thick hoop. Secure it with cardboard blanks and wrap it with twine. Decorate the tiebacks with curls or patterns. Make a holder from wooden flat skewers. First, wrap their tails, and then attach large flowers made of burlap and twine to the ends.
- To make it, use burlap or natural linen. You can also make it like a stocking doll. Brownie hair is woven from twine, bast shoes are made, mustaches and beards are usually made from strands of flax. Be sure to sew for your mascot beautiful clothes and a hat.
- Twine also makes excellent flowerpots. They can be made in any form, for example, a bicycle with flowers or a sleigh will look very original and beautiful.
Give freedom to your imagination and creative inspiration, and you will create incredible masterpieces from nothing!
Good day!
I welcome all handicrafts, creative people, as well as those who are interested in handmade crafts.
How can you decorate the walls of your home? That's right, there are a lot of ways, and one of them is wall panel. This is exactly the type of panel we will be making today. This work is not difficult to do, and you will probably want to make yourself such beauty.
What you will need for work:
- Corrugated cardboard;
- Linen fabric or burlap;
- Lace braid;
- Jute twine;
- Jute rope;
- Paper napkin for decoupage;
- A piece of paper or nylon wallpaper;
- Scissors;
- Polymer glue;
- Hot glue;
- Acrylic paint and varnish.
Step 1.
Cut from corrugated cardboard 3-4 circles and glue them together. This part will be the basis for the craft, so decide on the size right away.
Step 2.
From burlap or linen fabric cut out a piece slightly larger than the cardboard circles and glue the fabric with polymer glue to one side of the cardboard.
Step 3.
We cut the fabric in a circle with a small allowance, cut the allowance into several strips and hot glue these strips to the welt and the back of the cardboard base.
Step 4.
On the front of the fabric, in the center, draw a circle and paint it with acrylic paint. The color of the paint will depend on the dominant color of the design on the decoupage napkin. Drying the paint.
Step 5.
After the paint has dried, use hot glue to glue the lace braid around the perimeter of the base for the panel.
Step 6.
Using a simple pencil, in the space between the painted circle in the center and the braid, we sketch the future pattern that we will make from jute twine.
Step 7
Apply a small amount of hot glue to the lines of the drawn pattern, and gradually glue the twine to them.
Step 8
Now, you need to tear off a piece of the design from a decoupage napkin of such a size that it covers the painted part in the center of the panel, and then glue it to the paint using acrylic varnish, using the decoupage technique. We wait for the varnish to dry.
Step 9
Using hot glue, glue the jute rope along the contour of the painted circle in the center of the panel.
Step 10
Now, you need to glue a hanging loop to the back of the craft, and then seal the entire back surface with a piece of wallpaper, fabric or just paper, passing the loop out through the slot. We cut off the excess material sticking out around the perimeter of the circle with scissors.
Step 11
Finally, you can lightly paint the twine patterns and rope in the center of the panel with acrylic paint. Additionally, you can also apply a little pearlescent paint to the white paint.
As you can see, it’s not very difficult to create amazing things with your own hands))).
