Crochet UGG boots. Master class - crocheted ugg boots
We can safely say that knitted ugg boots are a secret or open dream of many girls. Having once won worldwide recognition and love, comfortable and soft boots still remain at the peak of popularity. Despite the fact that some glamor lovers do not recognize the very principle of such a model, in winter you can see hundreds or even thousands of different types on the streets.
Knit or buy?
Knitted UGG boots (made by hand) are certainly beautiful and stylish, but not very practical. Firstly, such shoes will in any case be softer than factory ones, and secondly, they instantly get wet from rain or snow. Therefore, the craftswoman should carefully weigh the pros and cons to avoid disappointment.
It is worth mentioning that knitted UGG boots will be very warm and attractive. Especially if you use thick yarn with a high wool content. Regardless of how the product is made (using knitting needles or crochet), the knitting will be voluminous and embossed. To make shoes, you should not spend money on 100% wool; you can use wool blend yarn with acrylic or cotton.
What to do with the sole?
Today, designers decorate UGG boots in all known ways and offer to wear them with jackets, fur coats and coats. However, one detail remains unchanged: the sole always remains quite thick, and the seam connecting it to the fabric part is not hidden inside the product, but remains outside.
This should be taken into account by those who are going to make knitted ugg boots (knitted or crocheted). The sole can be obtained in several ways:
- Easy to buy (fortunately, there are stores for handicrafts).
- Sew it yourself from several layers of felt or leather (if you plan to create UGG boots for home).
- Use soles from old boots.
Crocheted ugg boots with description and photo
At this point, two master classes are offered, using which you can knit ugg boots for a child, an adult or a doll.
The only point that the designer did not take into account is the raised seam between the sole and the upper part. The craftswoman can make it when the product is completely ready; to do this, it is enough to make one row of single crochets (SC) in the appropriate place on the outside of the boots.
Sequence of work:
- Make a chain of air loops (VP), its length will correspond to 2/3 of the length of the sole.
- Next, this chain should be tied in circular rows. To get rounded edges, in the first row you need to make 5-7 dcs at the ends of the VP chain. IN next rows these columns need to be doubled, that is, two should be knitted from one. The remaining DCs need to be knitted as usual (making one from one).
- When working on the toe, you need to use double crochets (dc), and when moving to the heel - sc. This way you will get a part of the desired shape.
Next stage
If the craftswoman decides to use a ready-made sole, then she needs to assemble a chain of VP, the length of which will be equal to the perimeter of the selected part. You can then use the description below.
You can also not bother with circular rows and knit all the details separately.
How to insulate boots?
In the case when the knitter plans to use knitted Uggs as full-fledged shoes, she can hem a thick lining inside. Sheepskin stuffed into knitted, artificial or artificial fabric is perfect for this purpose. real fur(for example, scraps from a fur coat or sheepskin coat).
Sample patterns are shown in the following photo.
It should be taken into account that the knitted parts should be slightly larger than the lining elements (one or one and a half centimeters wider). It is best to first cut out and sew the fur, and then start knitting. To make UGG boots comfortable to wear, the lining should be sewn tightly to the main fabric. It is worth fixing not only at the top of the leg, but also along the seams. Then the ugg boots will be solid and tougher.
Heat treatment and washing of boots
UGG boots need to be knitted as tightly as possible, preferably soaked in starch at the end of the work. Of course, sooner or later they will have to be washed, but then they will need to be starched again. Washing should be postponed until the last minute, making do with dry cleaning, because boots can stretch or shrink after water treatments.
In addition, fur-lined Ugg boots take a very long time to dry.
Knitting needles versus hook
Those who are not suitable for crocheted ugg boots will be interested in products made using knitting needles. Using these tools, you can make canvases with a variety of patterns: English rubber band, braids, “rice”, “chess” and others. Needless to say, these are the products that are primarily associated with snowy winter days.
The photo shows tall knitted ugg boots. There shouldn’t be any problems with the description, because it’s enough to knit and sew the parts according to pre-printed patterns. The designer suggests sewing a fragment of genuine leather so that it does not wrinkle.
Features of high boots
Products with wide lapels look quite impressive. In addition to aesthetic appeal, these elements also perform a practical function: by fitting tightly to the leg, they retain more heat.
Ugg boots with high leg boots will be more practical if you place a regular elastic band in the cuffs. Otherwise, the part will stretch quite quickly and will slide.
As an alternative method, you can consider a zipper sewn along the entire boot. This will allow you to put your shoes on and off without stretching the tightest areas. True, to sew a zipper neatly, you will have to work hard. The task will be completed the easier it is craftswomen who have sewing machine. However, if the knitted fabric and lining turn out to be too thick, you will still have to work with your hands.
What to wear with knitted UGG boots
When planning to use handmade boots, you need to understand what to combine them with knitted hats and scarves should be used with extreme caution. In the heat of passion it is easy to turn into christmas tree, on which they put on “all the best at once.” The ideal set would be crocheted ugg boots (a master class on how to make them is offered above) and a snood scarf made from yarn of the same color. It is advisable not to use knitted bags, coats, skirts and tunics.

Crochet ugg boots. Miniature UGG boots, crocheted, look like fluffy toys. They are soft, but keep their shape well, because, firstly, they are knitted from acrylic, and, secondly, the single crochet stitches (single crochet) with which they are mainly knitted provide a fairly tight knitting. The pattern from designer Schachenmayr is witty and practical, and it's immediately clear how to knit the sole, upper and cuff separately. Then it’s all put together, the seams are brought out so that they don’t rub the delicate leg. The seams are decorated with a fluffy trim, just like the top of the boots. The description suggests 2 options, for feet 10 cm and 12 cm long. The material offered is acrylic yarn Schachenmayr Baby Smiles Bravo Baby 185 (50 g/185 m), consumption will be 1 skein. A 3 mm crochet hook is suitable for us, and we will use it to knit a sample: 24 rows of 26 st/bn = 10x10 cm. Free description of crocheting baby booties We knit the listed parts - the cuff, the top and the sole. Cuff We knit a chain of 30 - 32 chain stitches. Add 2 more vops to provide lift. We work 1 st/bn in each rep = 30-32 st/bn. Next row: in the first loop (pt) we knit 2 dc; on each Fri until the very last we perform 1 sc/bn; 2 sc/bn = 32-34 pt. We perform this row with additions 2 more times in every 2nd row = 36 = 38 pt. We do not make any more increases and knit to a height of 6 cm. Next row: work along the edges of the row, leaving the 10 central stitches untouched. From the inside we decrease 1 st, knitting 2 dc with a common top. We do this 7-8 times in each row, and as a result we get 6 stitches on each side - for the heel. We cut the thread and fasten it. The result is a cuff with a height of 9 - 9½ cm. Upper part Take the thread and join right side cuffs Walking along the edge, we work 30-32 sc/bn all the way to the left side. We knit the next rows, 2-4, sc/bn, without changing the number of stitches. In the 5th row we decrease by 1 pt at the beginning and at the end of the row = 28-30 pt. We make such decreases 11-12 more times in each row and reach 6 points. In this case, the height of the middle part should reach 6½ - 7 cm. Cut the thread and fasten it. Sole We will knit it in a circle, expanding from the central axis. We knit a chain of 16-19 ch. First, we knit 2 dc in the 3rd ch from the hook; we knit the next 12-15 treble stitches, one in each stitch; in the next rep we perform 3 reps. We move to the second side of the chain: 12-15 st/bn; 2 sc/bn in the next question; connect in the last pt in a circle with a s/st - a connecting stitch = 32-38 pt. 2nd round: - 2 reps; 2 sc/bn next Fri; we knit the next 13-16 st/bn in each pt, one at a time; - work in the next 3 pts, 2 dc; we knit the next 13-16 st/bn in each pt, one at a time; - 2 sc/bn next Fri; 1 s/st in vop = 37-43 pt. 3rd round: - 2 reps; 2 sc/bn next Fri; we knit the next 8-11 st/bn in each pt, one at a time; - we perform 1 dc/dc (half double crochet) in the next 3 pt; - 1 dc/dc (double crochet) in the next 3 pt; - 2 dc in the next 6 pts; finish the circle symmetrically = 45-51 pt. 4th round: - 2 reps; 2 sc/bn next Fri; we knit the next 9-12 st/bn in each pt, one at a time; - we perform 1 dc/dc in the next 3 pts; 1 dc in next 6 pts; - 2 st/bn in the next. 6 pt; finish the circle symmetrically = 53-59 pt. 5th circle: - 2 reps; 2 sc/bn next Fri; we knit the next 50-56 st/bn in each pt, one at a time; - 2 sc/bn are performed on the last Fri; 1 s/st = 55-61 pt. Cut the thread and fasten it. Assembly We knit, walking along the edge of the upper part, one row of sc/bn, then with a crawfish step - also 1 row. We sew the back seam, starting from the bottom edge of the cuff, leaving 3 cm open at the top. We connect all the parts as expected, while performing 2 rows of connections as we did for the upper part. We make a tie from a chain 30 cm long, stretch it like lacing along the open edge, starting from the back.
Warm UGG boots, knitted by yourself, will warm your baby even on the coldest days. It will be especially nice that these warm UGG boots were created by the caring hands of a mother or grandmother. Knitting such boots will not be difficult even for novice craftswomen, the main thing is to understand the diagram, description and assembly, my master class and some useful tips will help you with this.
I took the description and diagram shown in the photo below as a basis. I won’t repeat the description, everything is already described perfectly. I will just demonstrate the step-by-step process of work and give a few practical advice, which, alas, came to my mind after most of the boots were ready.
Children's knitted ugg boots: description and patternsFirst of all, you should pay attention to the sole. The description suggests crocheting it, and it is double. The sole design is very simple. I knitted, as suggested, two blanks for each boot. But I wanted the sole to be even thicker. For these purposes, I tore off the thin leatherette sole from my old slipper. It was enough for me just for two soles for children's boots. I cut it out using a pre-knitted sole. I tied the leather sole with a half-column twist; how this is done is shown in the photo below.
We crochet a leather sole: pierce the sole and hook the threadThen I used a connecting post to sew the leather sole to the knitted one (see photo and video below.)
You can also do the same and cut out soles from old leather items. But later I had a better idea. You can use a felt insole for the sole. In this case, there will be no need to crochet the sole at all. You can simply tie the insole as shown above and continue knitting the boot.
Unfortunately, this idea came to me too late. I found a lot on the internet interesting ideas with slippers made of insoles. And I decided that this knitted slippers for sure! I bought insoles. They are inexpensive - 50 rubles, and in the near future I will start working. All that remains is to choose a model. I will definitely share the results so you don’t miss out, subscribe to blog updates. Email subscription form in the right side column. Also on the section " Contacts/About the blog/About the author"(in the top menu of the site) you can subscribe to updates via social networks.
Next you need to knit ugg boots according to the description. I didn’t make any changes here, I knitted according to the instructions: I crocheted two more insoles and picked up loops from them and started knitting ugg boots with knitting needles, according to the description. Only at the end I knitted the bootleg higher. If you decide to knit ugg boots with a felt insole, first tie it as shown above, and then pick up the loops with knitting needles and knit the boots according to the description and pattern.
Using connecting posts, I sewed my double sole made of a knitted insole and a leather one to the finished boots.
The next step is crocheting the tongue and boot. I tied the tongue with a post, as in the description. And I simply trimmed the boot with brown thread, since it was already wide.
By the way, the description says that ugg boots are intended for children under one year old. My son is 2.2 years old and his leg is not small at all, on the contrary - quite large for his age. However, ugg boots suit him, I think they also suit him. next year enough. I did not increase the number of loops; there are exactly as many as suggested in the description. In general, things always turn out bigger for me than indicated in the knitting instructions. I can’t say that I knit poorly or that the knitting needles are too large. I use size 2 circular needles. They are slightly thicker than regular double needles. But my threads are very thick, it is natural sheep wool, purchased from local farmers. If you knit with regular thread, you need to fold it in half.
Sh I captured Irina and the length of the boots in the photo. If you need to knit smaller or larger, this is easy to do by following the sole. Knit the sole to the size of the child's foot and then cast on loops along the edges of the sole. There will be as many as there are. It will be easy to navigate further. In the case of a felt sole it will be even easier.
Now you need to embroider the pattern and weave the lace. The lace is braided with 4 strands. White threads cross with white, brown with brown. For convenience, I hooked the braid onto the handle of the chest of drawers. I cut the ends and tied them into a couple of knots. I hooked the lace into the boot and tied it.
But I gave up embroidery, since it took me a lot of time to create knitted boots, mainly because of the soles, and I no longer had the desire to tinker with them. In addition, this year winter came already in October and knitted ugg boots came into use. At home we have a lot of drag on the floor, so these knitted boots for a child are just a lifesaver. His feet are always warm in them, even hot. In addition, they are soft, comfortable, and your legs do not get tired in them. And thanks to the leather sole, they do not slip and do not get wet if the baby accidentally steps on drops of water on the floor.
In other words, the knitted boots for the child turned out just wonderful. They may look different from what you expected, but they cope with their tasks with a bang!
Uggs are boots with a soft top just above the ankle. Many people do not like to wear them outside in winter, thinking that they get wet, but it is unlikely that anyone will argue about the benefits and convenience of this model of boots as indoor shoes. Homemade slippers knitted or crocheted will become excellent choice for winters and a faithful ally in the fight against drafts.
You can link them in different ways and from any yarn of your choice; most often they choose wool or with a mixture of wool, as the warmest. Ugg boots designed for the street, of course, have a hard sole; Many people prefer hard soles in house slippers, and in this case the easiest way would be not to cut them out of rubber yourself, but simply tie them around old slippers, having first gotten rid of almost all the fabric on them.
How to crochet ugg boots
Slippers are usually crocheted and much less often knitted, it’s just less convenient. Good way to knit such Uggs is to make them from several parts, namely the sole itself from old slippers, the toe of the boot, covering the leg to the ankle, the heel and the boot. Choose yarn; Don’t stop at just one color; knitted boots look no less beautiful if they are knitted from two or three colors matched to each other.
Take old slippers of your size, a strong awl (a needle, even the thickest one, most likely will not work at the first stage), a regular needle, scissors, hook and yarn. Cut off all the fabric from the slippers, leaving one sole with a narrow, about 2 cm, piece of sock in front. Poke holes around the perimeter of the sole with an awl and sew with a continuous seam.
This will be the basis for attaching the entire boot to it. To make a transition from this base row, knit one row with a single crochet, catching it on the base, and then a double crochet; repeat, alternating them and changing colors if you want, until the sole is knitted in 4-6 rows.
Do not tie the sock separately, it is left for later. Measure your instep and, for convenience, make a pattern for the toe of your future boot. Tie the entire element along it with a column of your choice, not forgetting, if you want, to knit any decoration or pattern. Sew this element to the slipper (here the rest of the old sock will serve as support).
Tie the heel, not forgetting to try on the workpiece. House shoes, even knitted ones, should not fit tightly. Alternate colors if you are knitting more than one color; after the heel, knit in the round until the very end of the sock. The last element is the top. It is knitted like a simple fabric, and then sewn into a kind of cylinder and sewn to the bottom of the boot.
Do not forget that towards the end the rows should become shorter - the top of the boots should be narrower, otherwise they will fall off. To prevent this, you can later thread a thin ribbon through the loops, which will act like an elastic band if you tighten it or loosen it more loosely.
This is the most noticeable part, and therefore it would be wise to decorate it with a pattern according to any of the patterns that you like best. You can make the pattern themed if you plan to wear them in winter - for example, from snowflakes. Sew both parts and repeat for the second boot.
How to knit ugg boots with knitting needles
Based on the knitting pattern for a regular sock. Knitted homemade uggs rarely have a hard sole, but you can always sew it on later using the same awl. You can knit the bottom of the regular one more tightly knitted slippers, you can make a slipper insert from fleece and put it inside a knitted one by simply sewing it together. Otherwise, use the pattern of a standard sock, just make it looser and higher in the boot, and decorate the boot itself with a specific knit or decorations - ribbons, buttons.
